Ayurvedic View of Panosteitis in Dogs
The Ayurvedic approach for dogs is increasing nowadays. Ayurveda has had a concept of pashu chikitsa since ancient times. Ayurveda is a system of medicine which serves the whole of nature equally whether it is a human being, plant or animal. Every disease is considered as an imbalance of doshas and the treatment is done to balance these doshas that are vata pitta and kapha. Ayurveda mentioned pashu chikitsa for treating animals as a priority. Origin of pashu chikitsa: As the time passes, animals are becoming special to humans and are becoming a part of their family. So it is necessary to take special care of their health for that pashu chikitsa in ayurveda is developed (veterinary science in ayurveda). As per ayurveda panosteitis in dogs is correlated to asthi pradoshaj rogas. Learning about asthi pradoshaj ogas let's understand what is asthi, asthi is considered as the bone tissue which means the whole bone tissue that is supporting the alover framework of the body which is called as skeleton. The fifth tissue in our body is bone tissue and is formed from the previous tissue that is medha (fat tissue). Bone tissue is having direct relation with vata dosha, as the vata dosha increases it further decreases the bone tissue and leads to bone deformities as well. So the dosha responsible for panosteitis is vata dosha.
Ayurvedic Management of Panosteitis in Dogs
As per ayurveda panosteitis is correlated to asthi pradoshaj vikara and the main dosha responsible for this disease is vata dosha. So the management done in panosteitis is to balance the vata dosha. For the treatment of dogs ayurveda promotes pashu chikitsa (veterinary treatment in ayurveda). And in this regardance planet ayurveda is also promoting this.
