You can make wise and healthy decisions and lead your life on your terms. Self-discipline means being obedient to oneself and behaving sensibly with people around you. It involves regulating and monitoring behaviours, self-presentations and emotions to respond to various social situations and environments.

Mark Snyder is a renowned psychologist who developed a self-reporting scale that helps in determining how it influences behaviours in diverse situations. Being aware of your response and behaviour can impact your environment. People who can self-monitor their emotions can alter their behaviour to conform or adapt themselves to the situation. On the other hand, people low in self-monitoring usually react according to their impulses, internal feelings, and requirements.
