Whether it's a wedding or holiday season, looking your best allows you to fully enjoy the occasion. You'll be surprised at the variety of men's ethnic wear options available. There are numerous ethnic options to try on for a sangeet, Mehendi, wedding, Diwali, Onam, or an ethnic day at work. And if you're looking for styling advice for men's ethnic wear, this blog is for you.

Kurta Salwar

Let's start with a classic look that never seems to go out of style. This outfit is not only stylish, but it is also extremely comfortable. This is a great outfit for special occasions. The salwar is the ideal combination of style and comfort because it has a loose fit and is slightly baggy.
Patiala is a good option if you want a fuller look. If your kurta over cotton vest is plain, choose an embroidered patterned salwar, or vice versa.

Kurta Churidar

The kurta churidar is another elegant combination that men adore. One of the factors that contribute to its popularity is the sleek and sophisticated appearance it provides. If you dislike baggy shalwars, ...
... the churidar is the bottom for you. It will make you appear taller by giving you a sleek appearance.

This versatile desi attire can be worn for a variety of occasions, including Diwali and Ethnic Wear Day. Furthermore, if you think a single-coloured kurta is too boring, pair it with a textured jacket for a completely different look. Accessorize with a decorated brooch or a turban in a contrasting colour. Don't forget to finish the look with appropriate footwear.

Sherwani

Next on our list is the traditional sherwani for men, a groom's favourite. It is typically worn for a formal occasion and is available in a variety of designs such as simple ornate, exquisite detailing, and so on. It is typically worn with dhoti or churidar pants, a safa, and a dupatta. Over the years, we've seen so many new sherwani designs that it's become difficult to pick just one.

Achkan Sherwani

This dapper ensemble will add character to your overall look. It's a modern take on the traditional sherwani that's perfect for making a bold fashion statement. The kurta is topped with a knee-length coat that has been trimmed and fitted for a more masculine look.

Indo Western Outfits

It combines Indian and Western styles to create a new ethnic outfit, as the name suggests. Cowl hemlines, asymmetric hemlines, printed long coats, delicate collar designs, and so on are typical western twists. This fashion trend has grown in popularity in recent years.

Kurta with a Mund in Kerala Style (Dhoti): The traditional ethnic attire for men in South India is kurta and mund or the south Indian white lungi. Kasavu mundu will make you look very fashionable when paired with a solid coloured kurta. This look is appropriate for any occasion, such as a wedding, festival, or ethnic day at work.

5 Easy Ways to Pep up the Traditional Outfit

Traditional outfits are already blingy, so bringing it up risks being a total disaster. Things become more difficult to manage while working on men's traditional wear. However, a few things can still be ensured in order to spice up a traditional men's outfit.

Go For A Scarf & Not A Stoll

It's unusual, but not uncanny, to wear a scarf instead of a Stoll. To add a twist to your usual traditional outfit, tie a printed/embroidered scarf for men around your neck instead of spreading it across your waist. A combination like this isn't something you'll see very often, but it's definitely a step up in your fashion game.

Ditch Those Churidaars & Wrap A Dhoti

Have you tried a Churidaar beneath your Kurta? Now it's time to wear it with a Dhoti instead. Dhotis have been popular for a while now, and they look especially stylish when paired with a contrasting upper. The trick is to keep the colour dull but light - preferably off whites, pinkish colours, and light blue shades over darker and louder ones.

Kohlapuris & Peshawaris For Footwear

Kohlapuris and Peshawari footwear are difficult to find, so if you come across a pair, seize it right away. These take your classic look to a whole new level of awesomeness. When worn beneath a dhoti, the entire aesthetic of these adds a touch of class and fun to your ensemble.

Accessorize With Beaded Wrist Gear

Accessories are an inseparable part of any outfit, formal or informal. And, if you're going for a more traditional look, I'd recommend sticking to beaded wrist jewellery and nothing else. Overdoing it would ruin your appeal, but keeping it subtle but visible would enhance it. So opt for a black or dark brown beaded bracelet and you're done for the day. Going coral is also a great option, and it goes well with light blues, ambers, and greens.

Whites for Bottom and Floral Pastel Hues Above

The final trick that comes to mind is selecting the appropriate colours. While being bold is acceptable if you can pull it off, sticking to white bottoms and floral pastel hues above is a more fashionable option.

Instead of dark blue, maroon, black, or bright red, choose a more muted colour. They have the same traditional appeal, but they look better on any skin tone.
