Push button switch is used to control current through and off. Press the switch, the current will be connected, then the machine will start. Press the switch again, the current will be off, then the machine will stop working. It’s called latch push button switch. When your hand press on the switch, current will be connected and the machine will start. When your hand release the button, current will be off and machine will stop working. It’s called momentary push button switch.

Except for momentary push button switch, push button switch is divided into many types, such as latch push button switch, metal push button switch, waterproof push button switch, LED push button switch, car push button switch, and emergency stop button switch, etc.

How to wire a push button switch?
According to the quantity of the push button switch’s pin, we will choose wiring way. We will introduce that the 4 pin latch push button switch is connected to the 12V voltage as a case. Please see the wiring of the 4 pin latch push button switch.

Firstly, prepare a 12V LED push button switch and a motor device. Then connect the positive pole of the 12V power supply line to the push button switch’s positive pole and side pin. Positive pole means LED light pin, the side pin means the push button switch’s electric pin. Connect the negative pole of the current to the other LED’s negative pole pin of the push button switch. Then connect in series to the motor device. The other wire of the motor device is connected to the power pin of the 12V push button switch. This informs a circuit return.

Now we have completed wiring of the push button switch. Press the push button switch, its LED will light up and the motor device will start. Press the 12V push button switch, its light will be off and the motor device will stop working.
