When I get asked to talk about the topic of the UGC NET admit card or any admit card for that matter, I usually begin by speaking about this art exhibition I went to once.

It was at an art exhibition in Delhi with several modern Indian art pieces on display.

The art pieces that I found there, ranged from art sculptures to digital arts. Even the artists spoke about their art and explained them with so much passion. It was a great experience.

Anyway, during my conversations with one of the artists there I asked him why didn’t more people know about his artwork, it was so good. To that, he explained how low the awareness of art is on the planet.

He said that this little awareness is mostly because of the admittance of only art experts in such exhibitions that happened thorough strict vetting processes.

Listening to him talk, my mind started compare this art admittance process in such exhibitions with that of the UGC NET exams. Just as I had to show proof of my name in the exhibition invitees list, the UGC NET examinees also need to show a proof before they can take the exam, which in this case ...
... is the UGC NET admit card. Without it you won’t be allowed inside the exam hall.

Having said that, in this article, I have written in detail about the UGC NET admit cards, things mentioned on the UGC NET admit cards, other topics like the UGC NET Admit Card Download process.

So, without further ado, let us begin.

The UGC NET admit cards are usually released a fortnight to 10 days before the date of the exams.

That said, the UGC NET admit cards can be downloaded from the NTA’s official website anytime from the date of its release to the date of the exam.

Talking about the physical nature or form in which the admit card is required to be carried to the exam halls, you’re required to take a printed copy of your admit card to the exam centre. On your admit card you will have details like your name and application number etc.

Therefore, it is imperative that you download your UGC NET admit card and take a print out of it, as only hard copies of it will be considered to be legitimate by the exam authorities.

To put things in perspective, the UGC NET admit card will basically serve the purpose of validating your presence in the UGC NET exam hall, meaning that the UGC NET admit card is essentially your entry pass to take your UGC NET exam.

With that said let us look at the release dates of the 2021 UGC NET admit cards.

UGC NET Admit Card 2021 Release Date
The admit cards for the 2021 UGC NET Exam (i.e., December 2020 Cycle + June 2021 Cycle merged) began to be released from 13th November 2021 onwards.

Moreover, you should note that the 2021 UGC admit cards were released in phases. The first phase of admit cards, i.e., of most of the exams were released on 13, 16 & 25 November 2021.

Then the Phase 2 admit cards for exams such as Bengali, Kannada, Hindi, Sanskrit & Home Sciences, were released, on 21st December 2021.

Note: The admit card for Phase 2 Kannada paper was still not released on 21st December 2021. Although NTA has released an official notification on 2nd January 2022 stating that the Kannada exam was to be held on 4th January 2022 and the admit card for the same was also released on 4th January 2022.

After that, the Phase 3 admit cards were released on 29th Dec 2021 for the 4 subjects (Social Work; Labour Welfare/Personnel Management/IR/Labour and Social welfare/HRM; Odia, Telugu) of Phase 1 (which could not be conducted due to cyclone Jawad) and 2 subjects (Geography & Sociology) of Phase 2.
