From the early 90s till today, we have seen enormous changes in the gaming industry. One of the significant changes has been observed in playing games after digitalization. Magnificent changes can be concluded in the way of playing games over the past decades. Before starting, let me ask whether you are aware of the term Metaverse or not? Let me explain it better. Metaverse is a technology which VR, AR, and BCI. Metaverse is a kind of virtual world with absolutely no connection with reality.

Video games have a simple home where players gather and fight for their team. One player drafts the strategy, and another one uses and follow the instructions given by his leader. In the virtual world, the gameplay is just the beginning.

EVOLUTION TOWARDS INNOVATION

RecRoom released 3D Charades in 2016, which kept fans turning their concept of playing to the next level. 3D Charade sounds like a standard online multiplayer game, but it signifies what metaverse could become. Metaverse is digital sharing, providing persistent space for meetings, gaming, and socializing.

... virtual room spaces, and the idea of Metaverse started in fiction decades ago by Orson Scott Card and Neal Stephenson. Games like SecondLife, Minecraft, and Roblox are a few examples of the first wave of Metaverse. In some of the games, players use virtual material to build items for their necessity expanding the scope of Metaverse in real life.

EPIC HUNGER FOR METAVERSE

Games like Fortnite hits audiences more than just playing, a perfect combination of technology and style. The allowance of Shoot-em-up games like this has taken tech advancement to a different state. Some of the games have hosted concerts by Musicians, including Travis Scott and Ariana Grande, and many more like Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish.

Social networking sites like Facebook and Microsoft found Metaverse as a place to live and work. Many people create digital offices to connect colleagues who are on the other side of the world.

ISN’T A DESTINATION, JUST A METAPHOR

When it comes to the virtual world, the activities remain largely experimental, and no one has an idea what it looks like in the coming few years. Business leaders to supercar makers are talking about how you’ll find their products in the metaverse or multiple metaverses.

In RecRoom, people play games like virtual paintball, dodgeball, and others who log in to the virtual world with a headset, a phone, a controller connected to a video game, or a keyboard connected to a mouse in a computer. Fans consider there’s no fun more than you do in virtual reality right now. Science fiction like the hit Matrix often depicts the metaverse as a part of a dystopian future.

DREAM WORLD FOR MANY

When Metaverse was a philosophical plaything in fictional books, the virtual world was a warning for our future. Ender’s Game by Card and Snow Crash by Stephenson describes how people live in the digital realm. They were called gargoyles.

Matrix is a computer simulation tool that enslaves humanity. Metaverse in the current world is more of an experience than an experiment. Scrabble-like Words with Friends for mobile devices became a hit in 2009. It was designed in a way to attracts more people across the internet. Paul Bettner state that our game is the latest excuse to hang out with friends. He believes in the concept that people don’t love words with friends but love each other.

UNEXPECTED FUTURE

As the social game gains popularity, newcomers use them in unexpected ways to use the technology for fundraising for charity and many more things like celebrating virtual parties during the pandemic. When this advanced technology waves over us, it is used to create a brand new game and help the creators reach a new audience in a new way.

I believe it’s just the beginning of the advancement. Social media like Facebook, Instagram, and many feeds doesn’t feel the same way we see. Posts on the site and facing reality are two different aspects. Despite the flaws, we can see that social networking sites grow rapidly. Most Metaverse projects are small and have the potential to act as a canvas for players to create their world of fantasy.

IMMERSING MINDS

We kept thinking,” What are the tools that empower people to create these 3D environments?” The online game date helps players create their own world of digital simulators. Developers like Rec Room, Roblox, and Microsoft Minecraft build innovative tools to make the gaming experience more realistic and compelling to live in. Roblox recently developed a layered clothing technology to make any fit on any character they wish to play.

Many of the developers say that Metaverse is still in its infancy. It is becoming a way to jump people into the tech digital world for more than a short experience. Metaverse technology isn’t enough for social cues and is more than a world truly built by different minds with different concepts. Metaverse provides the digital minds to work, and lets creators in the community tell us what they need and what they want to feed.
