Make Your Dream House Stronger With High-quality Rebars
Rebar is a steel rod or known as reinforcing bar, used in the process of construction are combined into a frame, contributing to the creation of strength of all elements of the building.
This is most often an auxiliary structure that helps to distribute loads and increase the bearing capacity of the building structure.
The main use of rebar:
• Use in the construction of reinforced concrete buildings and the construction of the foundation.
• Enhances the properties of concrete, does not allow it to crack. It has all the required properties: strength, ductility, frost and heat resistance, corrosion resistance.
• Steel reinforcement can be a hot-rolled rod and cold-rolled (cold-drawn) wire. The most widely used hot-rolled rod reinforcement has the form of a long rod with a smooth or periodic profile (in other words, with a smooth or ribbed surface).
• Periodic profile reinforcement is in great demand because it has better contact with concrete.
• The placing of these rods has a calculation, with a diameter of 6 to 40 mm.
Properties of Rebar:
Alloy steel is involved ...
... in the preparation of rebar. This means that steel is alloyed (fused) with silicon and manganese to increase strength. Sometimes chromium and titanium are added.
Alloying process startsto improve the physical and mechanical properties of steel. This is the complete process to achieve the special strength of metal products, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance. In the manufacture of the frame, the rods of the reinforcement is welded or connected by knitting, using knitting wire.
By using low-carbon steel the preparation of cold-drawn starts. There are also smooth and grooved (class VR-I or Vr-II). For non-stressed reinforcement use the Class B-I wire, Class B-II – for the strained. High-strength rebar come in so high quality, but the steel rods demand is so high. First, the cost of wire is higher. Secondly, it requires the use of heavy-duty, high-quality concrete.
Another type of reinforcement is ropes; these are twisted from several (2-19) wires with a smooth surface. The most popular are seven-wire, made by spiralling six wires with a diameter of 1.5 to 5 mm around a rectilinear central wire.
Difference between hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel
According to the rebar manufacturers in Edmonton, both types are initially prepared by the method of the hot roller. Cut the hot-rolled steel sheet into pieces. Blanks for cold-rolled steel material are etched and then undergo cold rolling. Thus, they have a longer manufacturing process. However, they are considered to be of higher quality. But they are also more expensive than hot-rolled ones. In turn, hot-rolled have their advantages. Aside from the lower cost, they are the least susceptible to corrosion.
As a separate type of construction reinforcement, it is possible to distinguish rigid (bearing, mounting) reinforcement, which is part of the reinforced concrete structure. This type includes an I-beam (cross-section with the letter "H"), a channel, and a corner. Use I-beam in the installation of floors and structures for bridges.
There is also non-metallic composite reinforcement. It is made of glass (fiberglass composite reinforcement), carbon (carbon fiber), and basalt (basalt plastic) fibers and impregnated with a thermoset binder. Use Composite reinforcement for the same purposes as metal reinforcement. In addition, it is preferable in winter.
At this time, antifreeze substances and hardening accelerators are added to the solutions, which cause corrosion of the metal. Advantages of the composite reinforcement in low weight, low thermal conductivity, excellent anti-corrosion properties.
Disadvantages are lower elasticity, low resistance to high temperatures (over 600 °), and the impossibility of welding.
Each of the types of reinforcement is best suited for certain conditions and temperatures. Therefore, when choosing, it is better to consult a specialist who will help you choose the ideal option for a particular situation. To know more visit our website :- https://buildingsupplydepot.net/
