Simple And Easy Meditation Techniques For Beginners To Relieve Everyday Stress
Meditation is simpler than what most beginners make it out to be. But it certainly takes patience. And perhaps a little help too. Meditation techniques have the potential to make meditation practice for beginners quite effortless and delightful.
But before moving forward, let’s understand that a meditation technique is only a tool to achieve a particular state of being. So first thing first, never confuse a technique with meditation itself. It is a means to become more calm and still.
A technique can be anywhere between a few seconds to minutes long. But once its purpose is served, we are to drop it and just sit still for meditation to happen. That sitting still and doing nothing is meditation. So make sure to stay still in the meditative state after the technique ends.
You can self-guide yourself through the technique steps given you are well aware of the steps or you can use a recorded technique in which a soothing voice guides you through each step.
Below are a few simple and easy meditation techniques for beginners to relieve everyday stress:-
• Active Meditation Technique:--
...
... There are thousands of meditation techniques, and a beginner can benefit from practicing any one of those. But Active meditation techniques can make meditation a piece of cake for beginners. So any technique which involves physical movement for a few minutes like dancing, yoga, or shaking your whole body for 5 to 10 minutes can instantly give you the taste of stillness and silence. Moreover, you don’t need any help or guidance for this technique.
• Body Scan Meditation:-
It is a simple yet quite effective meditation technique. First give yourself a good stretch to relieve any stagnant energy. Sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Now focus all your attention on the toe of your right foot. From toe move your attention to your fingers, then your ankle. Keep moving upward with a feeling that your body is relaxing. Repeat this process with your left foot, then your back, your stomach, arms, head and face one by one. Once you have scanned your whole body, drop all the efforts and stay in the position you are for as long as you feel like. This technique hardly takes 5 minutes and works wonders for beginners. • Breath Meditation:-
Breath is a bridge that connects you to your inner self. And it’s there from the moment we are born till the moment we die. So we are not required to make special arrangements for this technique. All you have to do is to make sure that the space you are choosing for meditation is quiet. Once you settle down in a comfortable position, bring your attention to your breath. Now take a few deep and slow breaths before you let your breath return to its normal rhythm. Take notice of each incoming and outgoing breath and any pauses in between. Don’t try to change your breath and remain there as a witness for a few minutes. After that drop the attention and remain in a meditative state for another few minutes.
There are also some other advanced variations of the breath technique which can be practiced through live sessions or recorded audios. Here is a recorded breath technique for meditation practice for beginners.

Sit or lie down in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths to come back to the present moment. Now let loose your jaw but keep your mouth shut and start humming like a bumblebee. Keep humming for 3 to 4 minutes with full awareness. Once the humming is over, keep sitting in that same state for another 5 to 10 minutes. After this technique you will find yourself rejuvenated and calm.
