How To Install A Wire Closet Organizer
Is your closet a cluttered mess?
Would you like to organize your cluttered closet, but don't know where to start or what to do? Fortunately, creating a more organized closet need not be a difficult or time-consuming task. The following seven (7) tips provide a general guideline on how to install a wire closet organizer.
1. Remove Everything From Your Closet. The first step in this method is to take out everything in the closet. Don't just take out all the clothing, shoes, and other items. Make sure you remove everything, including shelves, hanging rods, closet doors, and mounting brackets and hardware.
2. Repair and Paint. Next step is to make any repairs as necessary and repaint. Fill in any holes with spackle and allow it to dry. Sand the dried spackle to smooth it even with the rest of the wall. You can then paint the closet if you desire.
3. Find the Wall Studs. First, you need to find the wall studs, since you want to attach brackets or other mounting hardware securely on the studs. Use a stud finder tool to find the studs.
4. Attach the Tracks. Once you have identified the studs ...
... in the wall, you can attach the tracks for the organizer to the wall with screws. Carefully measure all distances between shelves, so that you can place the tracks in the right position. Since there are a variety of depths available for the shelving units of these closet organizers, it is important that you double-check all measurements.
5. Install the Standards. After the tracks are securely in place, go ahead and slip the standards onto the tracks. These standards are used to hold the shelving brackets and these brackets snap easily into place.
6. Insert the Rods. Next, inset the rods that support the shelving units. There are end caps for the rods to keep the hangers from sliding off the ends and these need to be snapped into place as well. Once you have positioned everything correctly, you can screw the standards to the wall.
7. Final Tasks. If there are any other accessories, refer to instructions provided by the manufacturer of the wire closet organizer for where to place them. After you have double-checked the installation, and everything looks tight and solid, you can put all of your clothes and other items back into the closet, and the doors reattached.
Finally, you will have a closet organization system set up that is easy to use and maintain. Your closet is now a picture of organization, instead of a sight for sore eyes.
