So, you face the problem of water flooding often and need a strong medium to transfer water out of your property? You need a water transfer pump and in this blog, we are sharing a few simple tips on choosing the right kind of water transfer pump. True to their classification, water transfer pumps help moving large volume of water from one point to another with speed. Whether you need to extract water out of your flooded basement or from a construction site, the right kind of dewatering pump will simplify and speed up the task.

There is a huge selection of water transfer pumps in Hampton, Sydney, and other major Australian cities. But choosing the right one needs some extra caution and careful ocnsideration. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

● Selecting The Right Outlet/Inlet Size: If you are out selecting a water pump in Melbourne, you will see the extensive range of sizes being sold online and offline. You need to choose one depending on your requirement. Lightwegith pumps are designed for domestic usage, gardens, and boating, so if you often face the problem of water flooding in some part of your house ...
... you need to get a lightweight water transfer pump. Large sized pumps, on the other hand, are good for moving large volumes on bigger sites like dams, flood areas, fields, etc. The pumps have same kind of working irrespective of their size. They suck in water from the inlet and eject it from the discharge valve. The only differentiator is speed of transfer. The speed of suction and ejection relies on the size of discharge/suction ports. Usual sizes of these inlets varies from 1-4 inches. Obviously, the 4-inch port will transfer water at a faster speed than the others.

● Choosing The Flow Rate Per Head: Usually, water transfer pumps come with a lower PSI capacity as compared to High Pressure Pumps. Buy they have capacity to move big volumes of water. So, the question comes about measuring their flow rate which depends on the size of the task in hand. For domestic purposes, 100-200 litre per minute flow rate is optimum. It can easily take care of commercial and private properties needless to add that of average sized homes as well. Apart from that, the flow rate also needs to be considered with respect to ‘maximum head’ capability. It relates to the maximum distance/height that can transfer pump can pump to. For example, if you have a pump that can maximum head to 60 metres, it means the flow rate will reduce to zero at 60 metres. Therefore, the flow rate neutralizes as it reaches the threshold pumping capacity of the pump.

● Selecting Engine Type: Most water transfer pumps used on commercial and large sized properties have petrol based engines. The diesel engines are for sure more fuel efficient but costlier than petrol engines. Also, the range of petrol engines is far wider as compared to diesel engines in the Australian markets. Most water pump repair service providers in Brighton, Melbourne, and Hampton recommend petrol engines as their parts are more easily available as compared to diesel engines.
