Ashley Tisdale, the High School Musical sweetheart, is a superstar among the pre-teen audience. Ashley first struck a chord with her tween fans as Maddie on Disney Channel's The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. But it was her role as Sharpay Evans, the super brat, snob and scheming co-president of the East High drama department, in High School Musical that made her a household name. Though she played an antagonist in the film but the role made her a superstar of ‘tween entertainment'.

Ashley lent her vocals for several songs in High School Musical and the songs topped all the music charts that year. She had three hits on the Billboard Hot 100: ‘Bop to the Top,' ‘What I've Been Looking For,' and ‘We're All in This Together' and she became the first female artist to ever debut with two songs simultaneously on Billboard Hot 100.

But Ashley is not new to the business. She's been entertaining audiences ever since she was a child. She was discovered at a mall near her home in New Jersey when she was three by a talent manager. She was soon seen in spots for brands like J.C. Penney and T-Mobile.

... the age of eight, Ashley hit the road to star as Little Cosette in the national touring company of Les Miserables. She then went on an international tour with the cast of Annie.

In the late 90s she appeared on a plethora of TV series like "Nathan's Choice" and "The Howie Mandel Pilot". She had recurring roles on "The Hughleys", "George Lopez", and "Still Standing" and even guest starred on "7th Heaven", "Boston Public", "Grounded for Life", and "Strong Medicine".
In 2006 Disney cast Ashley in the television film High School Musical as Sharpay Evans and the rest as they say is history!

In February 2007, Ashley released her first solo album Headstrong and made it to number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. The accolades just kept coming from every side. In 2008 she was ranked #10 on Maxim's Hot 100.

In March 2007, Ashley told "Blender" magazine that she does not smoke and was drug and alcohol-free. She went on to add that her mother instilled confidence in her and therefore she's not somebody who'd bow under peer pressure.
