Stage 2 Competency Standards
The Engineers Australia Stage 2 Competencies are generic. They apply to all engineering disciplines in four units given below:
1. Personal development
2. Technical proficiency
3. Value in the workplace
4. Personal commitment
Each of the units listed here has the elements of competence and indicators of attainment. The competency elements are the capabilities necessary to the unit of competence and the attainment indicators are a guide to the engineering work likely to be taken into account as showing attainment of that competence. Here, we will tell you about the technical proficiency unit in detail.

• Determining standards for assessing a design solution and addressing designer obligations for work safety and health.
• Clarifying and adopting standards for assessment and review and evaluating the implications of engineering activities.
• Assessing project, product, or systems results against the original specification or design intention.
• Evaluating project, product, or system outcomes for maintainability and constructability as input to future design improvement.
• Assessing and utilizing technical information in the right manner to make sure that opportunities are based on soundproof.
What Stage 2 Competency Standards are for:
The Stage 2 Competency Engineers Australia is helpful as a base of assessment to attain Chartered membership of Engineering Australia (Chartered Engineering Technologist or CEngT) and registration on the NETR (National Engineering Technologists Register).
