Outlook's performance has ever been the major concern for its users. Sometimes, Outlook becomes so slow that it starts irritating you. Even when you have good hardware configuration, Outlook takes time while launching. Moreover, it takes time every time you receive or send an email. There can be many reasons behind that. This article describes various processes to speed up Outlook. Following are those processes:
Delete unnecessary emails: Size of the Outlook.pst file plays an important role in slowing down the Outlook. If the PST is bulky then Outlook takes more time to fetch emails, contacts, etc. from it. Therefore, you should delete unnecessary emails on regular basis so that the size of PST file will not increase. In addition, the emails with heavy attachments must also be deleted. If the attachments are important, then save them at another location and delete the email containing attachments. This will reduce the size of PST, which helps in increasing the speed of Outlook.
Uninstall unnecessary add-ins: If you have installed many add-ins to simplify your Outlook tasks but do not use them frequently then you ...
... should uninstall them. Availability of additional add-ins slows down the Outlook. In you do not want to uninstall the add-ins then simply uncheck the add-ins that you do not use. To disable add-ins, execute the following steps:
1.Select Tools > Trust Center.
2.Now, select Add-ins in the left panel.
3.Select Com Add-ins in the Manage drop-down list and click the Go button.
4.Now, uncheck the add-ins that you do not use to disable the add-in and click the OK button.
5.If you want to remove the add-in, then select the add-in and click the Remove button.
Compact PST : Whenever you delete any email from your mailbox, it moves into the Deleted Items folder. Even when you emptied the Deleted Items folder, the size of PST is not reduced. You should know that bulky PST often slows down the Outlook's performance. Therefore, you should timely compact the PST so that the extra space available in the PST gets deleted. However, Outlook prompts you to Compact PST on regular basis depending on the availability of the extra space in the PST file. In case, Outlook is pausing in between while you are using it, you should compact the PST to reduce the size of the PST file.
Kernel for PST Compress and Compact enables you to Compact PST file whenever required. The software can compact unlimited PST files in one go. This amazing compact PST tool supports all versions of MS Outlook starting from Outlook 2002.
