A special connector is a fiber optic coupler or fiber adapter that is specifically designed to connect or mate two ends of a fiber optic cable that too with high precision. A simple design is used by the adapter: into two slots opposite each other, the ends of two separate fiber optic cables with fiber optic connectors fit. To precisely align the two ends, the slots are designed so that there is no to less signal loss.

Two ends of different fibers are mated by Fiber optic adapters; hence they are known as couplers too. Connecting single fibers, there are versions; others connect up to four fibers, and some even connect two fibers for duplex mode.

Through the alignment sleeves, precision mating is done. Either metal such as copper or ceramic is used to make these for providing a rigid support for the connectors. Plastic is used to make the connector body itself. There are fiber optic couplers or adapters.

By the optical fiber adapters used, Optical cross-connect cases are characterized. There are also multiple sub-standards and standards.

... fiber connectors and fiber adapter is a standard. Of course, connected within different standards, there are adapters; however, these are types of crutches – for measurements, they are only suitable and in a constantly operating communication line, they should be avoided. The better it is if the mechanical joints in the line and any spliced especially are fewer. Of course, the line will work if the distance is small, even if on some of the crosses; a couple of decibels will be lost. Optical attenuators, with short lines, are sometimes used especially. However, adding one more closure or cross can be fatal: and the line will not work for very long lines where the equipment works to the limit. Made for every type of fiber optic connector available, there are fiber optic couplers or adapters.

Roughly speaking, a cylinder with a thin through hole for the fiber in the center is the tip of the plug. The cylinder end is not flat but is slightly convex. Extremely resistant to fatal scratches and hard, the tip is made of the cermets material; however, metal tips are very rarely used. Rumor has it that trying to bite through these tips; people were breaking their side cutters. Not touching the end of the connectors with a finger and not allowing for the dust to ingress, tips must be handled with care Despite this. You need to wipe the tip with an alcohol wipe if you do touch it. Ideally, to monitor patch cords, a special microscope is used. You need to clean it if a patch cord is dirty. You need to send it for polishing or write it off if the scratch crosses the center where the fiber is and it is scratched. A common cause of attenuation in the line is scratched and Dirty patch cords as well as sockets. You can buy fiber adapter online.
