Recently i was trying to get access to one of the activated and working website of my own but when i entered the url in the browser, it refused to load it. Attributing to its site’s back-end issues. Once again i tried opening another website and the same issue popped-up again.
Then it turned out that the websites were functioning quite good enough but it was some underlying issues with the browser itself. Well it is not one of problem ...

Check Network Connection

Clear Cache And Cookies
Sometimes the browser’s stored files get corrupted die to some of the reasons. So, in that case one must delete all those temporary files for the smooth functioning of the system. This could be done as follows:

3. Enable checkbox for browsing and download history, cookies and cache options.
4. Select today under time range to clear.
5. Press OK button and wait for the process to complete.
Once done retry accessing the page and check if it fixes the firefox not loading pages issue.
Deleting temporary data might cost you some delay in loading pages then regular and might also sign you out from the websites you once signed in. But all these things will be on temporary basis. By the time things will get normal once the site data gets re-populated.
Disable Extensions
Third party add-ons especially related to that of javascipts or changing in-page elements have been notorious in breaking page components which later results in their inability to load the pages after taking a lot of time.
If you need a little more assistance then start the browser in safe mode. This will verify if this will indeed be the case this time. Doing so shall disable the extensions and you may then act accordingly.
1. Launch the mozilla firefox browser.
2. Click on the top right menu.
3. Select on Help > Troubleshoot Mode option.
4. Click Restart in the confirmation dialog box.
The browser will now boot to safe mode. If you can access the websites in safe mode then the problem was associated with the third party application.
So, now close the safe mode and boot to the normal mode. Then go to the about addons page and disable all the extensions.
Turn them on one at a time until you can recreate the issue. When that happens, consider uninstalling that issue causing addon from the browser right away. Now, access the desired page and check if the firefox not loading pages issue has been fixed or not.
Extensions tends to add more features to the browser’s normal workflow, then it’s better to maintain a safe distance from them.
Disable DNS Prefetching
What is domain prefetching and how does it help with performance?
A DNS Prefetch is a resource hint to make a DNS lookup for a domain the browser has not yet determined needs to be made. This can improve performance because when the browser does need to make a request for a resource, the DNS lookup for that domain has already occurred.
As, a result the browser would load that website a few seconds faster. However in some instances this prefetch technique could result in the breaking of websites or the loading of incorrect configurations. Hence, it would be best if you considered disabling this feature and then check out the results.
