STEPS TO ENABLE OR DISABLE MOTION DETECTION ON AMAZON ECHO DEVICE
Alexa Motion Detection activates and recognizes that someone is in the room. It uses ultrasonic sound to detect the motion rather than a camera. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Firstly, open the Alexa app on your phone.
Tap on devices at the bottom of your screen.
Choose the option Echo & Alexa there.
Then, go to Echo and tap to enable or disable Motion Detection.

... on the Gear icon to open the device’s settings located in the corner.
Please scroll down to find Motion Detection and tap on it.
Now you can toggle it on or off.
With Alexa Motion Detection, you have an option to set up Occupancy Routines; when you set up in the settings, it begins creating some smart home automation right away.
FEATURES AND SPECS OF AMAZON 4TH GEN ECHO DEVICE
The 4th generation Echo devices have a spherical shape, unlike the previous generations with a cylindrical design. It comes with a 3-inch neodymium woofer and has two tweezers measuring 0.8 inches. It features a 1.6-inch audio driver, mute buttons, and tap to snooze features. Alexa starts playing music when it detects motion near the Echo device and turns off the music when you leave the room. Alexa Motion Detection feature is like other motion-sensing newer devices. Still, unlike Alexa Motion Detection, those other devices rely on cameras to tell if there are people in the room.
HOW DOES ALEXA MOTION DETECTION WORK?
Alexa Echo speakers don’t have a camera; instead, it detects movement by emitting an audible ultrasound wave that reflects nearby objects before traveling back to the device’s microphone. With the Alexa Motion Detection feature, you don’t need to rely on one of these extra gadgets to turn on your lights or music. With the new Alexa Motion Detection feature, Amazon has indicated that it will further come with smart home automation devices and features in the future. Philips Hue, Aqara, and Centralite are some of the stand-alone motion sensors working with Alexa.
