Tombak or Tonbak is the rhythm of Iranian traditional music. The Persian Tombak (tonbak) is a percussion instrument under the membraphone family. Persian Tombak drum also known as “Zarb Instrument” which means beat. Iranian Tombak is a goblet-shaped, wooden drum with a richer sound compared to the frame drums. In the past, the body of Tombak was made of wood, pottery and sometimes metal, but today only wood is used to make Tombak. All tombaks we sell are hand-made, constructed by well-known makers who have mastered their craft. Besides their quality, the ornaments on our tombaks or Tonbak are also attractive and reflect Persian culture.
