The Old School is a former village school that has been completely refurbished. This exciting project was completed in May 2008 and provides four spacious holiday apartments. Each ground-floor apartment has one, two or three bedrooms, with a bright, open-plan kitchen/living area and a bathroom or shower room.

The Old School is a new self-catering development - and it's also the perfect place for you to retreat, relax and recharge. This exciting refurbishment of the old village school provides four bright and spacious self-contained apartments, each with one, two or three bedrooms.

Set in the heart of nature, surrounded by stunning scenery and amazing wildlife, the village of Dalavich is certainly "off the main road". On the shores of Loch Awe along a 14-mile single-track road, it's just a couple of hours' drive from Glasgow, ...
... but it's a different world.

Yet there's plenty to do to help you recharge your batteries. You'll find numerous lochside and forest walks, including the Dalavich Oakwood Trail, and a number of attractive cycle routes. Bikes and boats are available for hire in the village. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife and you might even spot an otter, a wildcat or an eagle en route. And if you're more interested on the wildlife on the end of your fishing line, some of the largest brown trout in Europe are waiting to be caught in Loch Awe. You're sure to catch trout in Loch Avich - just 10 minutes' drive away - and fishing permits are available locally.

The apartment features a fully equipped dining kitchen, which opens out into a spacious living area. Windows along two walls give lots of light here - perfect for keeping an eye on the nesting swallows outside the window or just relaxing on the comfy sofas with a book and a glass of wine!

The open-plan living room leads into wide corridor to the bedrooms, all with bright decor and brand new pine furnishings.

The bathroom has a bath with integral shower and a heated towel rail.

Loch Awe is well known across the country for its excellent pike and trout fishing and, more particularly for the size of the fish caught. The biggest brown trout in Britain, weighing in at 31lb 12oz, was caught in Loch Awe in 2002. All kinds of fishermen come to Loch Awe and they fish in different ways. Wet fly fishing is popular, but so too is worm and spinning with a lure. You won't need to tell your pals about the one that got away.

We are delighted to offer all our guests a free fly-fishing taster - your chance to try out a great new hobby. Our local expert will give you a special introduction to this fascinating sport.

If you get hooked, you can take advantage of a follow-on half-day coaching session, putting your new-found skills into practice from the boat. For more in-depth tuition, there is also the option of a two-day course covering the basics of fly fishing, including casting from the bank and the boat.

It is ideal for a family or group of friends. The open kitchen/living/dining area includes a newly-fitted kitchen with all mod cons, comfortable sofas and beautiful dining furniture. The bathroom contains both a large bath and a modern shower.

Guests enjoy spending time in this large, comfortable apartment, spreading out maps to plan the day, chilling out as the day draws to an end, cooking, watching tv, reading a book, relaxing. It is a welcoming apartment in a peaceful, beautiful setting.
