Going on a first trip with your kids? Do not worry we have the most essential checklist - a first aid kit checklist. We will share our curated list of first aid essentials for families with kids by suggesting the items one should always carry on their travels.

International travelling with kids can often be scary. And you can have multiple thoughts like, what if any of us get sick on the road? Would I know what to do? Where would I get help? Do I have all the vaccination reports, and what if I don't? Not taking you to the scaryland of negative scenarios, but anxiety has its purpose, and being pre-prepared for unexpected events is necessary before going for any adventure.

While one can never be prepared for everything that life may bring to you, there are some basic things you can do to at least save yourself if any unexpected misfortunes happen. And carrying well-stuffed first aid kits is one of those basic things.

What to Pack in a First Aid Kit While Traveling with Children
Make sure ...
... you consult your doctor about any specific conditions you or your kids may need medications for.
Below is a list of the basic items that we should carry with us:

1. Insect Repellent, After-Bite Remedy, Anti-Allergy Cream
Depending on which place you are traveling to, you may need different types of insect repellent or milder remedies. But you can always go for some common protection from insect bites like anti-allergy cream, or after-bite remedy spray.

2. PainKillers and Anti-Fever Remedies
For adults and kids, you should always prefer to bring anti-fever remedies and pain killers from home. This way, you do not have to stress over minor fever due to climate changes or a bad leg cramp after an adventurous day.

3. Anti-Diarrhea Medications
Travelling can often upset the stomach and the bowel severely, and sometimes, you simply cannot wait for it to get better. For such situations, ask your doctor about the remedy they suggest for stopping diarrhea when it hits. Do not forget to ask about any remedies to take for preventing or rebuilding gut energy after it.

4. Hydration Salts
Travel sickness or else fever can cause dehydration. This may be severe, so you should always have rehydration salts in several flavors with you. A variety of flavors even promotes kids taking them without too much fuss.

5. Mild Laxative
This can be very useful, especially in the case when you are traveling to a country with a completely different diet or if you are crossing several time zones. All this can upset and fluctuate the normal rhythm of your body. And mild laxatives can help you to get rid of them while traveling.

6. Water Purification Tablets
These tablets can come in use anywhere you are not sure about the quality of the water. This can even be useful just to clean the cups and cutlery for the kids to use.

7. UVA and UVB Sun Protection Lotion
You should carry sun protection for both adults and kids. But ensure that it suits each of your skin types & tones and no one is allergic to it. If possible, you can also get reef-safe sunscreen, which is gentler in the environment and leaves as a bit of trace on the skin as possible.

8. Eye and Ear Drops
You should always have eye and ear drops for both adults and kids. Because the ear drops, in particular, can be a lifesaver if one is suffering from the pain of ear infections or pressure from the airplane. Because this can be severe sometimes and can even cause serious damage.

9. First Aid and Wound Dressing Essentials
This entire section of the first aid kit is dedicated to remedies for wounds like wound care cleaning solutions. As wounds can be either minor scratches or much bigger injuries. For taking care of any minor to major wounds on the go, you should carry:

First aid quick reference card
Burnt ointment
Wound care cleaning solution
Alcohol-based sanitizer or Antibacterial hand wipes that contains at least 60% alcohol
Essential first-aid items (bandages, ace bandage, gauge, antiseptic tweezers, cotton-tipped applicators)
Aloe gel for sunburns
A lot of plasters
Blister plasters

Other Things to Pack in Your Travel First Aid Kits for Family
Consider the following items too while preparing a first-aid kit:

Digital thermometer
Scissors
Safety pins
Tweezers
Disposable medical gloves
Small flashlight
Resealable bags (for contaminated items etc.)

Having this type of kit with you will always help you to keep your anxiety at bay. As an extra precaution, you should always study the availability of healthcare at any local hospital. Also, do not forget to carry your vaccination and prescription reports.
