Industrial centrifugal process fans are one of the most efficient fans on the market today. It is a device with rotating blades, which move and circulate the current of air. The impeller pulls the air inside the blower and then the propeller pushes it out at a 90° angle.

The forward curve vane types are found in low-pressure applications. It consists of many vanes of a small area that are curved in the direction of rotation. The advantages of these types of fans are: They can move large air volumes against relatively low pressure, they have relatively small size and they have low noise levels.

In backward-curved vane fans, the vanes are inclined away from the direction of rotation. To do the same work as the forward curved types, these fans must run at higher speeds resulting in noisier operation. These fans have the capacity to operate at higher pressures. Their advantages are: Suitable for forced draft services, suitable when system behaviour at high airflow is uncertain, flat-bladed fans are more robust, curved bladed fans are more efficient, thin air-foil bladed fans are most efficient and can operate with changing static pressure. They are the most efficient type of centrifugal fan. The forward and backward inclined vane fans are frequently used in HVAC, industrial, clean air supply, and extraction applications.

In the centrifugal fan of radial vane type the wheel is usually narrow in proportion to its diameter and the vanes of this type are of greater depth. It has the capacity to operate at very high velocity and pressure. This type of fan is ideal for conveying dust and dirt, exhausting, and for forced draft applications. The advantages of radial vane-type fans are: High durability, simple designs, suitable for high temperatures and high static pressure, can operate at low air flows, and have large running clearances. They are frequently used in industrial, mining, petrochemical, dust extraction, and high-pressure applications.

Reasons For Preferring Centrifugal Fans For Process Applications
The industrial centrifugal fans have the ability to develop pressure and this makes them a logical choice in an air system with a duct. In cases when resistance to flow is a significant factor, it would be complex for a simple centrifugal fan to move very large amounts of air. Some commercial fans should be called compressors, where there is a requirement to deliver air at very high pressures.
