Home is not just about 2 bedrooms, 1 living room and kitchen or 40 rooms, 40 bathrooms and 12 kitchens. A home is a place where love and bond reside. It's the place where you create memories, sad and happy, and spend most of your time. Therefore, it's very important that you create a place which is beautiful and positive and that's the reason why I recommend you to embrace the charm of your house with the products made in India. Yes, I am recommending you pick products made out of Khurja pottery, metal crafts, and wooden crafts.
First, let's understand how these crafts are different from each other.

Khurja Pottery:
The culture of pottery has been in India for a very long time. It is a method of preparing vessels and several other products that are made using clay and other ceramic products. For robust, they are burnt at a higher temperature and have a long-lasting form.
There are various types of pottery- earthenware, stoneware, and porcelain and Khurja is a city that is known for its rich pottery work.

Khurja is a city in Uttar Pradesh, known as the Ceramics City because of its large extent ...
... of ceramics supplied. Further, the ingredients or raw materials which are used in making pottery are Clay, Plaster of Paris, oxide chemical colors, glaze solution, Kiln and jigger, and jolly machine.
You can find beautiful crockery wares, art wares, electrical products, sanitary wares, tiles, and household products made out of Khurja pottery. There are 15000 people who work official and 25000 workers are working unofficially. Furthermore, 500 different units are handled by these workers and approximately 400 factories.

You will be surprised to know that Khurja pottery is not just sold in India but even in international markets. And if we believe the reports then 2,500 million Indian rupees are collected for the pottery work by trading the products from 1999 to 2000.

You can shop Khurja pottery online from CCIC, the Central Cottage Industries Emporium.

Metal Crafts:
The way metals crafts are being made in modern Indian is different from the ones that were made in ancient India. The Metal handicrafts found in the Ladakh region are admired for traditional vessels made out of iron and brass. The way intricate floral and calligraphic patterns are embellished on copper as well as silver items enhances the entire look of the product.

You might not be aware that India is famous for Koftagari, a craft of encrusting one metal into another. Furthermore, the Dokhra art on silver and copper is famous in the national and international market for jewelry and home decorative items. Besides Dokhra art, there are other metal crafts or metal handicrafts that are popular in India. These include Bidri craft, silver filigree, meenakari, Maori craft, and so on.

3. Woodwork
Lastly, woodwork. Woodwork handicraft is famous in northern states of India and the regions like Punjab are known for their exquisite wooden furniture. Furthermore, Kashmir is popular for its artifacts which are made out of walnut trees.
Places like Chattisgarh and Jharkand are also famous for their wooden crafts. The artisans of those regions create products like maks, doors, window frames, and sculptures. Whereas Jharkhand is popular among people for its wooden toys, found in pairs.

If I look at the wooden carvings of Goa, they give a nice vibe of an aesthetic blend of two cultures- Portuguese and Indian, and the designs made are more of floral, animal, and human figures.
Well, when I am talking about woodwork, how can I not mention the southern part of India after all it's endowed with abundant forests.

The woodwork in the southern part of India is majorly performed on rosewood and sandalwood. The Red sandalwood from Andhra Pradesh is utilized in creating cutlery, dainty boxes, and paper knives in various designs. Further, the famous Tamil Nadu city, Madurai is popular among people for its rosewood carvings.

Karnataka is known for its magnificent elephants, paintings, and rosewood furniture. Sandalwood is also used to create functional and decorative products that are etched with floral, creeper, bird, and animal motifs. In Kerala, magnificent female sculptures are fashioned out of Kumble wood.

How can you embrace the charm of the house with these crafts?
Well, when it comes to decorating your house what's better than Indian handmade crafts.

Khurja pottery comes with some incredible products such as vases, crockery wares, art wares, electrical products, sanitary wares, tiles, and household products. You can create your own dinner set or cup and saucer set. Trust me, when you serve your guest in those crockery wares, your guest will definitely appreciate your taste.

You can decor your living room with the beautiful walnut furniture from Kashmir. Their cravings are beautiful and will definutely grab your attention. Dhokra art is another beautiful craft of India. If you have an empty corner in your house and want to decorate it, you can definitely pick any product from Dhokra art and increase the charm of that corner. And very beautiful and my favorite craft of India is Bidri craft. That jali work and intricate work is just mesmerizing.

You can create your own favorite corner in your house with Bidri craft products. This craft combines two colors- silver and black. If you are a hookah fan, not because of its taste but the design of hookah on which you are hooked, then you should create your hookah stand using Bidri craft.

Well, each craft of India has its own language and significance and history as well. To give your house that royal look, you should definitely inculcate Indian crafts. You can shop your favorite handicraft items online from CCIC. You can even shop brass items online and paper machie products from CCIC's official store.
