Are you an engineer planning to settle in Canada?

Well, that's a wonderful thing that you could do to yourself.
However, keep in mind that working as an engineer in Canada necessitates a significant amount of effort on the part of the candidate. APEGS, a highly regarded internal authority, assesses candidates' capability and potential. It is to make sure that the competency-based assessment is carried out correctly.

If you are an engineer with a strong desire to settle in Canada, then you're reading the right post. It will acquaint you with the requirements, processing time, and process, among other things.

So, let's get started...

What exactly is APEGS?

APEGS is the provincial organization in Saskatchewan, Canada, which is in charge of licensing Professional Engineers and Professional Geoscientists. Only candidates with APEGS Canada engineering licenses are legally permitted to carry out and assume responsibility for professional engineering and geoscience projects in Saskatchewan. APEGS is a member of Engineers Canada.
What are the requirements for the APEGS Canada engineering ...
... license?

Requirements for APEGS license:

1. Member-in-training application along with the fee of $210 with tax.

2. World Education Services (WES) ICAP course-by-course or document-by-document credential assessment.

3. Self-assessment

4. Academic assessment fee of $210 with tax.

5. Official program syllabi (if required).

6. Identification form proof.

7. Technical engineering work experience curriculum vitae

Don't miss to include all engineering experience gained since completing a bachelor's degree in your CV.

You must have sufficient proof to demonstrate that you have technical engineering work experience involving the application of engineering theory and science.

The reviewers will also look for your work experience to determine if you are eligible for the APEGS Canada engineering license or not. So make sure to mention all the work experiences along with the start and end dates, the company's name and address, job title, and a brief description of the duties you perform for each job.

How long does APEGS take to process?

The time it takes to process an APEGS application is determined by the candidate's situation. International engineering graduates who do not require extensive academic evaluation may be able to complete the process in as little as two months.

In contrast, applications requiring a thorough academic evaluation typically take around four months. Keep in mind that any additional academic preparation needed as a result of the academic assessment will prolong the time required to become eligible for registration as a member-in-training.

What is the procedure for applying for APEGS?

Apply online. Keep your credit card handy, as you'll need to pay the processing fee with a credit card).
Here are the instructions for the online application for first-time APEGS applicants:

1. Click on https://www.apegs.ca/Portal/Pages/sign-up-member and create an APEGS account and follow the instructions on the screen.

If you've already registered for APEGS, just click the "Login" button in the top right corner of the page. If you have forgotten your previous registration number or User ID, please get in touch with the APEGS office at apegs@apegs.ca or call at 306–525–9547, 1–800–500–9547.

2. You'll receive an email for 'APEGS sign up verification' from APEGS on your registered email id. Click on the link in the email. It will take you to the APEGS Central homepage. Now, click the 'Applications' tab on the left side.

3. Now, click on the 'Apply Now.'

Apply to WES for ICAP credential evaluation on a Document-by-Document or Course-by-Course basis.

You'll now receive a fee ($210) bill for the academic evaluation. You should go to your online profile and pay with a credit card.
You must complete the self-assessment after receiving your WES assessment. For that, download the self-assessment form that best matches the discipline of your bachelor's degree. After finishing the self-assessment section, return the form to APEGS.

Download the Identification Form proof, fill it out, and mail it to APEGS with the original and completed form.
Now, send official program syllabi and curriculum vitae to APEGS via email.
And you're done!

So that's it for the APEGS Canada Engineering License. Hopefully, this post has been informative and will assist you in applying for APEGS and settling in Canada!
