There are few things as disappointing for the hunter and shooter that arrive excited about a day in the field, the bush, at the shooting range, only to leave frustrated because they missed their targets.
For the deer and elk hunter – and similar animals –accuracy first time is often of the essence as you get one chance only. Also, prey is often hunted over long distances and not necessarily at 200 or 300 yards. Long-range hunting is widely practised in America and elsewhere and often attracts enthusiasts that prefer to hunt their animals over distances of 800 and more yards – also over 1,000.

Long-range hunting has its own demands and expectations; it requires different levels of skill than would be expected of the hunter that shoots and hits at shorter distances.
