1. Brogdon type of avocados is harvested during the winter months. The flesh is light yellow to light green, with a dark green exterior.
2. Lula avocados have greater oil and are used for extraction rather than for simple consumption. It is usually grown in warmer temperatures. This type is a mixture of the Guatemalan and West Indies types!
3. Super Hass has a butter-like flavor with rich oil content. This type has the longest shelf-life. It matures in September and October.
4. Choquette is the creamiest of all avocado varieties.
5. Oro Negro can tolerate lower temperatures and mix the Mexican and Monroe varieties of avocados. It has a light yellow color, with a dark brown seed.
6. Nishikawa avocados have a mixture of Mexican and Guatemalan features. This type has a natural flavor and has a greater concentration of essential nutrients and fats. It is grown in parts of Central Florida.

Other varieties of avocado types include Simmonds, Monroe, Donnie as well as Russell.
