Python is one of the most popular languages among individuals or companies for its compatibility with advanced technologies like machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), data science etc. This enriching programming language is widely used and also works well for backend web development.

C++ is great for backend development. It's fast, robust and most importantly, extremely reliable. It is actually the platform of all programming languages. It depends on what you are building and what you define as the "backend". C ++ is only good when you want speed and control memory allocation in your code.

Java is generally faster, more efficient and a versatile programming language. There are many frameworks today that are based on Java. Java is famous and popular for platform independence.

Kotlin is the backend development language that can be found in the optional Android studio. Although it was created in 2011, it now adopts Java as most applications are now developed with it. Another amazing thing is that it now supports cross-framework development which makes it more popular and widely accepted.
