Infertility therapy has advanced quickly in recent years, giving us more instruments to assist our patients in having healthy infants. However, these quick advancements can be difficult to fathom at times, particularly when considering the expense. Like many IVF facilities, we rely on outside genetic testing laboratories that use either blood or cells from a developing embryo. We'd want to clarify the differences between Genetic Carrier Screening (blood tests), ICSI, Embryo Biopsy, PGS (Preimplantation Genetic Screening), and PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis) (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis). The following is a breakdown of what all of this means in detail.

If both partners are carriers of the same genetic condition, IVF treatment cost in Delhi/ICSI/PGD is recommended because there is a one-in-four chance (25%) of conceiving a child with the disease. We can screen for a specific disorder using PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis) of an embryo. Our insurance will most likely pay for this initial blood test.

What exactly is the embryo biopsy?
The embryo biopsy involves the excision of a few cells ...
... from the embryo's outer layer, eventually forming the placenta. An embryologist in our lab uses a specialized technique to accomplish this. The biopsied sample is transferred to an advanced genetic laboratory that evaluates the DNA of these cells for PGS / PGD (this is the actual testing). Even if the best IVF center in Delhi NCR.

The cycle is covered by insurance, the price of doing the essential biopsy on the embryos may not be.

What's the difference between PGS and PGD?
PGS is the process of examining an embryo's biopsied cells to see if it has the correct number of chromosomes. It's an uncomplicated test that determines whether the source has the correct number of chromosomes – 46, XX, or 46, XY. If one or more chromosomes are needing or added, the embryo may be considered abnormal and ineligible for transfer back into the uterus. PGD is more sophisticated and can detect single gene alterations, allowing couples to create a healthy child even if both partners are carriers for the same disease.

Both PGD and PGS are fantastic tools for assisting couples in conceiving healthy children. With so many examinations having nearly identical initials, this can be a confusing language to learn. Never be afraid to urge us to slow down, ask more questions, or request an explanation that makes sense to us! The nurses, doctors, and billing staff can address any issues before, during, or following a treatment cycle. As always, we wish us every success on our path to a healthy baby!

Previous genetic testing
On investigation, it was found that the miscarriages happened due to aneuploidies in the fetus. While there was no family history of chromosomal abnormalities, advanced maternal age was considered as one of the contributing factors.

Doctor Recommendation
She was recommended Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS) for the Embryos that developed.

It brings us out of the critical situation.
The surrogacy center offered suggestions. The sophisticated Next Generation surrogacy Sequencing (NGS) technology is used in PGS. PGD can detect the majority of single-gene diseases. PGD allows the clinician to choose embryos for implantation that do not have the single gene abnormality being examined. The single gene disease can be prevented from being handed down from generation to generation by using PGD.
