During the warm summer months, many people choose to simply lie on the fitted sheet and cover their body only with the flat sheet. This thinner top cover means that you won’t get so hot while sleeping, won’t sweat as much, and your body will still be protected from mosquitoes and other irritants.

Although fitted and flat sheets differ greatly from one another and each serves a specific purpose, the consensus is that it is best to combine both a fitted and flat sheet on your bed for the best rest possible.
