Cane Corso puppies make remarkable pets. Obedient, friendly, and protective of their masters, they are really man's best friend. However to make sure that your dog grows up to be a confident, yet respectful pet, there are some rules you will need to follow.

Set The Ground Rules
To understand the Cane Corso breed you need to analyse there inherent behaviour. This breed learn about there environment via the pack, and think in a pack mentality. So the first thing your dog is going to do is to figure out there place in your pack. They will test the boundaries by seeing how far they can push there behaviour, however there are a number of steps you can take:-

Sleeping Arrangements - Cane Corso puppies, will initially try to figure out there rank in the pack. Do not let them sleep on your bed. This will give them the false impression they are an equal footing with you. Make sure there own bed, is at a lower footing than your own.

If your mastiff feels he is at the same pecking order, he may become aggressive.

Strict Routine - If you want to raise an obedient and confident dog it is very important that ...
... you do not pander to him too much. Whilst, dogs react positivity to rewards and conditioning, they expect you to be there master.

Cane Corso Dogs require constant exercise. They have a history of being work dogs and require plenty of exercise to keep them happy.

Cost Of Keeping A Mastiff
Because the Cane Corso is a big dog breed it will require quite a lot more food than you average dog. It will also require more trips to the vet, and a bigger bed, toys, in fact everything about the mastiff is big.

The Protector
With the right training the mastiff instinctively knows when to become a protector and when to become a defender of your family, home and surroundings. They can be great guard dogs, suspicious of strangers, whilst be a loving member of your family.
