Getting ready for the mobile index:
The mobile-first index was first tested by Google in late 2016. The purpose of the study was to determine how mobile versions of websites influenced ranking signals. According to Google, most searches are carried out on mobile devices, but indexes are attached to desktop computers.
The results can be catastrophic; not only in terms of rankings, but more importantly in terms of organic traffic if the site is not properly set up for mobile indexes. Traffic from organic sources drives conversions. Your SEO provider should confirm the mobile-friendliness of your website,
Switching to HTTPS:

Building AMP pages:
AMP (accelerated mobile pages) is what Google is all about. Designed to increase mobile page loading speed. A fast loading page is a formidable force for technical SEO. It's overwhelming to look at all the details. As a result of AMP's, there has to be some significant editing of large amounts of potentially important content and/or functionality, such as navigation, that exist for reasons other than SEO.
Interstitial removal:
The world of startups is full of disruptive companies, but the world of SEO is filled with interstitials that are negatively characterized as disruptive. Sites that use interstitials may be penalized by Google if they have them. There have likely been some times when a website prevented you from exploring it unless you clicked on a link or X to gain access.
Google is likely to penalize Interstitials eventually if it hasn't already, which obviously affects site ranking.
How to prepare for voice search:
Apple's Siri, as well as Amazon's Alexa, has significantly boosted the popularity of Voice Search. What are the implications for SEO? Your website will benefit from voice search if you prepare it for it. Content should be structured so that such terms are present since most searches begin with these terms. Including who, what, and where in long-tail keywords makes SEO more effective. Consider creating a Q&A page for your website that lets users post questions for you to answer.
