It is well-known that in pregnancy, the pattern of the body and immune system to fight against the infections changes itself. If a pregnant woman is affected by Covid-19, her immune system can act in some unpredicted ways. She might get some normal symptoms like flu or cold. Sometimes, a pregnant woman might affect by severe respiratory problems if she is already suffering from hypertension, diabetes, or any other medical condition.

Threats to Fetus due to COVID-19
A study so far depicts that the babies are mostly safe from a severe respiratory infection caused by the coronavirus. Observations of the umbilical cord, the placenta, and blood samples from mother and child show that the virus does not transfer from the mother to the unborn. However, the effect of the mother’s health threatens the baby’s health in the following ways.
• In some cases, it has appeared that as the coronavirus damages the lungs tissues, it can damage the placenta tissue. Any harm to the placenta in the pregnant woman may lead to brain damage to the child in the womb.
• There is no evidence of miscarriage or stillbirth due to the coronavirus effects. But if a woman is caught by the coronavirus in her early days of pregnancy and suffers from intense fever, it may lead to birth defects.
• Generally, the worse effect of any viral fever during pregnancy can enhance the probabilities of depression in the mother and autism in the child. Although a deep and years of study are required to reach any conclusion in this regard.
• Pregnant ladies with covid may face a preterm or premature birth in the last three months of pregnancy.
