Quick Relief Remedies For The Common Cough
The common cough is something most of you deal with in your daily life. Sometimes, people get so busy that they end up ignoring all the symptoms until it gets too late. It all starts with a little itchiness in the throat and then goes on to become a cough and leading to cold further down the line. While all this is treatable during its onset, you usually head to the doctor when the symptoms become rather serious.
It is important that we diagnose these symptoms earlier and instead of ignoring it, take some precautionary cough medicine like cofsils. These are not prescription-based medicines but they definitely will aid you in not getting a severe cough. As the ears nose and throat are connected, you are prone to get a cold as the infection spreads further into your body. Your immune system however might need some help in fending off this onset but due to it being mild in nature, it does not show externally to us in the form of fever.
While you try some cough medicine or even sore throat remedies, there are a few things you can do at home to make yourself feel much better while you recover. Drinking more water helps ...
... in liquidating the mucus which in-turn soothes your throat. Prefer taking hot water with your cofsils in order to soothe your throat. Remember, when you have a sore throat, your appetite also goes down as it is really difficult to swallow while eating. Hence, it is recommended that you have a teaspoon of honey too as it has proven to drastically reduce cough. Ginger is another home remedy. Ginger tea is very popular with anti-inflammatory properties and if you want you can add honey and lemon for some taste.
Steaming is another way to get relief from sore throat and the cold that comes with it. You can add eucalyptus oil as it has antiviral and antimicrobial properties that help in treating a sore throat and the common cold. Saltwater gargling is another very effective way to reduce the inflammation caused by a sore throat. With the use of saltwater, the phlegm and mucus is reduced at the back of the throat which in-turn reduces the need to cough the germs out. While remedies and cough medicine do their job, you could help supplement our immune system with some probiotics. Some foods that contain probiotics are miso soup, natural yogurt, kimchi and sauerkraut. A probiotic type called Lactobacillus provides a noticeable benefit too!
This way you are not only helping in treating your illness but also making your body stronger. While you try all these remedies at home, remember that you need to monitor your symptoms and also consult your general physician. Book an appointment or take online consultation and if needed also take their prescription. Home remedies are not strong enough if the disease is stronger than your immune system. Some anti-biotics will help you immensely along with these remedies to get better and healthier.
