Microsoft Exchange Server is a popular server side application by Microsoft Corporation to create a collaborative messaging environment. It contains a separate mailbox for every user. You can access your Exchange Server mailbox using Microsoft Outlook application on client system. If Microsoft Exchange Server is configured in Cached Exchange Mode, a replica of your mailbox is stored locally on client hard drive in the form of OST (Offline Storage Table) file. When you connect to Microsoft Exchange Server using your client system, OST to PST (Personal Storage Table) file conversion takes place, after synchronization.

The major advantage of the OST file is that it enables Microsoft Outlook users to access all your emails, notes, contacts, and other data in Non-Exchange environment. When you are using the OST file, you need to download all your emails every time when you connect to Microsoft Exchange Server. Only the new emails are downloaded and OST file is updated. You can create notes, tasks, appointments, journals, edit mails, and delete mails, while you are offline.

In ...
... some situations, you may find that OST to PST conversion can not take place. You can not access your Exchange Server mailbox. Such situations generally include the following ones:

1)Synchronization Errors- If you are unable to connect with Exchange Server due to synchronization problems, the conversion can not be completed successfully.
2)User Mailbox Deletion or Corruption- In case your Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox gets damaged or deleted, you can not connect to Microsoft Exchange server. In such situations, you can use OST file to recover your data.
3)Exchange Server is Down- If Exchange Server is not working properly or it is down due to hardware or software failure, you may need to manually convert OST file.
4)Exchange Server Database (EDB File) is Damaged- If EDB file is damaged, you can not connect to Exchange Server and access the mailbox. To fix this behavior, convert OST to PST and restore the damaged mailbox.

You can manually convert the unusable or orphaned OST file to usable PST using third-party Exchange OST recovery software. The applications use advanced conversion algorithms to ensure absolute conversion of all your valuable data. They are incorporated with highly-interface and self-descriptive graphical user interface to offer easy conversion.

Stellar Phoenix Mailbox Exchange Desktop is the most excellent solution to ensure absolute, safe, and easy conversion of unusable OST file. The software works well with Microsoft Outlook 2007, 2003, 2002, and 2000. It effectively converts all OST file objects, such as emails, notes, tasks, contacts, and more.
