Having credit card debt is never a good thing. Not only does it reflect badly on your credit scores, you would also eventually end up in more debt than ever before if you fail to settle your outstanding amounts within your credit card debt, as the account would continue accumulating interest and you would see your debt growing before your eyes! Paying off credit card debt is without doubt the wisest thing to do, but it is easier said than done.

Many tend to struggle after a while and neglect their monthly payments, and end up failing to pay even the minimum amounts. Once you default on your payment at a stretch of six months or more, you fall into the high risk account group under your creditor's collection of accounts, and every movement through your account after that would be scrutinized greatly by your creditor. Many wonder if they could simply not pay their outstanding amounts and get away with it, but trust me when I say that when you stop paying, you are only increasing your problems. Once you cease from paying your monthly payments, not only would your balance grow with additional interest payments, you ...
... would also be charged late payment charges (on a daily basis). And rest assured that you debt would grow exponentially even in a few months time!

And like it or not, your creditors can definitely take legal action against you if you do not respect the agreement that you signed with them and stop your monthly payments. The agreement that you signed with them is legally-binding, and allows them to sue you in court if you refuse to pay them the amount that you owe them. And you could be sued anytime, although your creditors would definitely take the effort to try to make you pay up first before heading to the court of law to recover their payment. And remember that once your creditor decides to sue you, your credit scores would definitely take a hit, and this would undoubtedly provide you cause for concern as you would then struggle in future applications for credit such as loans.

It is best that you eliminate credit card debt now before your debt grows beyond your control! Rather than merely hoping that your debts go away, seek solutions for your problem. You could either negotiate with your creditors, or seek the help of debt consolidation firms to assist you in getting rid of credit card debts! All the best!
