The iPhone has its market from the very beginning. The simplistic and sleek design makes the phone unique. Global selling data makes the iPhone the leader in the A-one category devices. As per January 2021 data, six of the ten smartphones sold globally were iPhone, with iPhone 12 Pro Max taking the lead in popularity in the US. The data tells people to prefer big-screened devices to watch, read and play, with capable cameras to shoot the world.

iPhone’s demand is always there if the company launches a new one. Still, people invest in the older versions because of the unmatched quality and design. The same we can see in the iPhone 12 series, which is still in demand after the iPhone 13’s fall debut.

Let’s see what makes the iPhone 12 Pro Max unique after six months. Is it an advanced triple camera system, the speedy performance, or the excellent battery life?

Apple’s homemade silicon is tough to beat. The iPhone 12 Pro Max has an A14 Bionic processor, which is the company’s top mobile chip. The iPhone 12 Pro Max was a complete beast when it launched, and it is still the best. Everything about ...
... the phone’s performance is top-notch.

In a head-to-head test, the iPhone performed well. The Apple iPhone 12 (not the professional model, but with an equivalent processor) quickly smoked the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The Apple phone persistently outperformed Samsung’s flagship in terms of CPU and GPU.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max’s performance from day one is up to the mark. Even after several software updates, it’s fast, smooth, and powerful. That’s the way we love it. We can say that the iPhone 12 Pro Max will still perform well for years.

The battery life of the iPhone 12 Pro remains up to the mark. The iPhone 12 Pro Max features a larger battery than the standard iPhone 12 Pro. Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max is still going strong and it will have a solid battery life for some time.

Apple’s triple camera arrangement produces the highest quality photos available from a mobile phone. iPhone 12 Pro Max, with its huge primary sensor and powerful telephoto lens, makes it a class leader.

You’ll notice sharp focus, good exposure, and accurate white balance/color throughout.

Software

iOS isn’t for everybody, to be sure, but given its popularity, you can’t write it off. iOS 14 is among the most potent upgrades to iOS yet, and one that makes the platform behave more like Android than ever.

iOS 14 supports app widgets. Most of the widgets worked well and were simple to set up. Not every app has a widget, and that’s a bit problematic.

iOS 14 got an app drawer. As it’s called, the App Library is the far right-most home screen panel that contains all the apps installed on the phone. This feature is available to Android devices since the beginning. Apple organized them by usage/type and did an excellent job of automatically categorizing them. I find using the App Library more and more to access apps than using the home screen icons.

Siri still cannot compete with Google Assistant, but Siri’s Suggestions have gotten better over time, and I now find them rather useful.

Apple delivered one of the best software support to its devices which is still unbeatable compared to the other device in the market. Phones that are years old still able to run the latest version of iOS. According to reports from Apple, 86% of all phones introduced in the last four years are smoothly running iOS 14.

Design

The iPhone 12 Pro Max looks good. The stainless steel band wraps the entire outer edge, while Apple’s proprietary “ceramic shield” protects the phone from breakage. It’s a classy one, undoubtedly. An IP68 rating makes the phone still challenging and better. It easily handles minor bumps and bruises, as well as an accidental dunk in the pool. The vertical side rails are not up to the mark.

The phone has sharp edges, combined with the phone’s sheer size, and it’s a literal pain to have in your pocket.

The iPhone’s screen is bright, offers fine resolution, and handles most content quickly, but there are two major sticking points I can’t ignore now that we’re one-third of the way through 2021.

Notch is not coming in the other flagship anymore, and all the other brands switched to punch-hole designs for their displays, which is way better to manage the user-facing camera.

Most 2021 Android flagships use 120Hz high-speed displays. iPhone 12 Pro Max display sports a 60Hz refresh rate. The difference is visible while scrolling up and down websites, lists, or other vertical content. iPhone 12’s display doesn’t quite match the beauty of today’s 120Hz panels. Let’s hope the iPhone 13 display makes the jump to 120Hz.

Price

Apple is a big brand, and the loyal customer base made the company’s equations profitable. iPhone 12 Pro Max is expensive. It starts at $1,099 for the 128 GB version and runs up to $1,199 for the 256 GB model and $1,399 for the 512 GB variant.

Charging

The charging speeds are among the slowest in the flagship market. The phone supports wired charging up to 20W and wireless charging up to 15W. That’s if you buy Apple’s chargers, which aren’t included with the phone, which is unique but not consumer-friendly. By using a third-party, Qi-based charger, wireless charging speed will be limited to a pokey 7.5W. By using the optional Apple wall, charger will net you approximately a 50% charge in about 30 minutes.

To be transparent, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the daily driver for anyone at the moment. I used it since it went on sale last November.

After using this phone for six months, one can easily say it is a success for Apple, covering all the basics, undoubtedly.

iPhone Pro max offers high-quality hardware that’s tough and built well, it has some of the best performance of any device, packs battery life that competes with most flagships, and snaps a perfect photo. Some detractors, gawky, slower, high-price tags tag, but other phones also have these issues.

From a broader perspective, the iPhone 12 Pro Max has completely lived up to the mark. The issues I’ve noticed were there when it first went on sale. Six months hasn’t changed the equation. If you’re in the market for an iPhone who needs the biggest screen, with a highest-quality camera, and the best battery life you can get, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the only option for you.
