How To Keep Your Immunity Up In Summer
As the entire country deals with the hot summer months, one of the biggest challenges many people face has to do with maintaining their immunity in the face of immense heat. The rising temperatures bring with it several unique health challenges and it's easy to get caught unawares. Even beyond issues like sunstroke, there is a lot you need to watch out for in order to maintain your robust health. Sure, things like multivitamin tablets are something you should take whenever there is a need, but even beyond that let's look at all the ways in which you can maintain your immunity through the summer.
Load up on nutrients - One of the biggest health challenges people face during the summers has to do with losing essential nutrients through sweat. The heat and humidity in most parts of the country result in excessive water loss through sweat. While drinking water regularly can help offset that, you actually sweat out a lot of essential nutrients. It is important to load up on vitamin C and other essential minerals like zinc and magnesium to balance things out. Additionally, Vitamin D is still absolutely essential, try and catch ...

Keep working out - Many people drop their workout routines because of the summer and some people even stop going for jogs or visiting the gym. This will not only cause you to lose your gains but will also affect your immunity levels. Try to work out in the mornings instead when it's cooler or opt for an air-conditioned environment when attempting heavier workouts.
Stay hydrated - One cannot stress the significance of this. Be it through health drinks or immunity booster drinks, make sure you are regularly consuming liquids. Opt for smoothies that incorporate a bunch of different veggies so you can tick multivitamins and fiber off your nutrient requirement as well. On the other hand, mix things up by trying coconut water, unsweetened iced tea, and other such popular summer drinks to help you stay fit and healthy.
Rest and get sufficient sleep - We all tend to underestimate the importance of a good night's sleep. Studies indicate that a lack of sleep directly affects your immunity levels and can seriously impact your body's ability to fight off diseases and heal well. Make sure you have a healthy sleep pattern and manage to get at least eight hours of uninterrupted sleep every night. This is especially important for kids.
Staying healthy through the summer can be a challenge, especially if you live in a country like India that has harsh summers with unforgiving humidity levels. The key is to monitor your diet and ensure you are eating a balanced meal every time. Load up on good nutrients and try and include things like immunity booster drinks in your daily routine. Get plenty of sleep and a good amount of exercise to ensure your immune system is in perfect shape.
