Narkanda, known for its incredible scenic beauty and amazing architectural display through ancient temples, never fails to draw tourists from far and wide. This is also a place which is a sought after destination for the trekking lovers as it takes them through lush green forests and beautiful mountainous region. Trekking in Narkanda is a trail which every trekking lover must explore.

How high is Narkanda?

Situated at an altitude of about 9000 feet, this is a place which often offers the visitor with a fresh blanket of snow. At this place, other than Narkanda to hatu peak trekking, one can also explore skiing. It is situated in the historic Hindustan-Tibet road which is known for its sheer drops and hairpin bends.

Best time to visit Narkanda

When you are exploring mountains, then each season has something amazing to offer. This is the best part about the giant of rocks that the view of the place differs ...
... greatly from summer to winter to monsoon. Also, the difficulty level of the treks differs from one season to another. Hence, it’s essential that you always have a word with your travel partner before embarking on your trekking journey.

Summer (April-June): During this time, the place looks absolutely pristine as it slowly welcomes the new bloom of flora. It becomes a place filled with lush green all around – and that is a sight to behold. This is also among the most sought after time for trekkers and nature lovers to explore this wonderful place.

Monsoon (July-September): Summer lasts for about two months. After that, it is time for the place to welcome monsoon. It is a time when the droplets of water falling from the sky gives a whole new look to the place. However, it is not the best time to visit the place as the rain also increases the possibilities of the mudslides which can turn dangerous.

Winter (October-February): Winter turns this already beautiful place into a white wonderland. During this season, the whole place gets covered in white blanket of snow and that is a scene which is worth remembering forever. Also, during winter this place sees fewer footfalls and hence, is much less crowded.

How to visit the place from Delhi
Narkanda is located at a distance of a little more than 400 km from Delhi. This sleepy little town adjacent to Shimla serves as a perfect gateway from many from the hustle-bustle of the city to enjoy a few days of peacefulness.
