Significant Hindu Wedding Card Wordings Bearing Religious Traits
Hindu families are particular in maintaining their religious and cultural marks in all aspects of weddings organized for their marrying off their sons and daughters. Hence, their wedding invitation letters should bear customized wordings in a format that is strictly written as per the ancient Hindu customs and now diligently followed by reputed wedding card makers.
Hinduism is the largest religion in India, for which the majority of this country’s population belong to this religion. Most Hindus prefer to exhibit their bonding to their religion when they need to invite their relatives and friends to their weddings. Thus, the formats used for Hindu wedding card wordings are created according to specific Hindu traditions of inviting honored guests to a wedding ceremony.
Definite aspects noted in Hindu wedding card wordings
Religious Hindu couples and their parents prefer to start their wedding invitation letters with the names of deities whom they worship in daily life. Hence, Radha-Krishna, Shiv-Gauri, and Ram-Sita are the divine couples, whose names are often mentioned ...

Some wedding invitation letters initiate with Hindu worship mantras, like ‘Om Namah Shivay’ or ‘Om Ganeshay Namah’, to seek divine blessings for new couples. Sanskrit phrases from Vedas or Bhagavat Gita may also be used for the same purpose. Sometimes, hymns chanted for performing a Hindu marriage ceremony may also be written before beginning the wedding invitation letter.
Hindu religious symbols, like Om or Swastika, can be used instead of writing anything at the top of a wedding invitation letter. Usually, these symbols are drawn in golden or crimson red color, to make them prominent and also to render a divine aura to the wedding card.
Generally, the entire Hindu marriage invitation wordings are preferred to be written in vernacular languages, which should be the mother tongues of new couples. Thus, wedding card makers create templates in all major languages spoken in India among Hindus. They also provide a brief English translation of the letter content, for the convenience of guests from other linguistic backgrounds.
The wordings are usually printed in a sharp contrast shade to the chosen background color of the wedding card. However, black color is avoided at all cost, as it is considered inauspicious by Hindus.
The tone of Hindu wedding invitation letters expresses the love and respect of new couples for their guests, who are cordially invited to attend their marriages. Hence, wedding card makers create their templates accordingly, which just need to be customized by adding the necessary details of new couples.
