Importance of Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra
The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra is known by many names such as the Rudra Mantra, which refers to the terrifying form of Lord Shiva, the Tryambakam Mantra, which refers to the three eyes of Lord Shiva, and the “Mrita-Sanjivini Mantra'' due to its resurrection power. It is believed that Lord Shiva gave this powerful Shiva mantra to Shukracharya after his great penance.
According to Shiva Purana, the chanting of Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra helps the devotee to attain Moksha or Moksha. It removes the fear of death and frees the person from the cycle of death and rebirth.
