Bollywood Sequels Have Become a Norm (Pretty Much)

Sequels are the order of the day, and rightly so. Think of any recent Bollywood movie and you’d find that there is a sequel to it. Be it the ‘Race’ series or the ‘Dhoom’ series, sequels galore in the modern day and age.

Sequels are preferred by one and all because of an element of ‘familiarity’. Most of the sequels take the prequel’s story forward. Of late, numerous sequels are being developed in Bollywood by several bigshot producers and filmmakers. Satyameva Jayate 2

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
The first part of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ starred Akshay Kumar in the lead role and became a big hit at the box office. 13 years down the line, the viewers will get to see Karthik Aaryan stepping into Akshay Kumar’s shoes. This movie is expected to have all the ingredients required to make a blockbuster. Also, Anees Bazmee would be directing the movie instead of Priyadarshan (who directed the first part). It will be great t0o watch Karthik Aaryan on screen after so long. Watch Karthik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in action in this horror-comedy flick, but do remember to watch the first part on Dish TV DTH.

Badhaai Do
‘Badhaai Do’ would be the sequel to ‘Badhaai Ho’, a comedy-drama movies starring Ayushmann Khurana. However, Rajkumar Rao is expected to play the lead role in this one. Harshwardhan Kuilkarni will be directing the movie and VBhoomi Pednekar will be seen sharing the screen with Rajkummar Rao. The first part became a huge success at the box office, all thanks to the rocking chemistry between Ayushmann, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta. It would be interesting to see if the sequel can recreate the impact that the prequel had on the masses.
