You may save some bucks by making your flight bookings with American Airlines Manage booking options. Let's explore the best places in Thailand!

The capital is Bangkok.

Bangkok is the most famous city in Thailand as well as the capital of the country. Frenzied, busy, and chaotic, the city certainly does not lack charm and attractions. Sea lovers can take a dip and sunbathe on Ko Samet, the closest island to the capital. History and culture buffs can get lost in its streets and museums. For those on the hunt for exoticism and ancient traditions, Chinatown and Yaowarat are the perfect places to visit. Bangkok is Thailand's cultural, political, and commercial center, a city that has ...
... transformed into a modern place over the past decade. With over 400 Buddhist temples, with their magnificent palaces and buildings decorated with various architectural styles, the city offers visitors numerous cultural attractions and a lot of entertainment.

The historic city of Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya has located about 70 km from Bangkok and is a favorite destination for tourists who reach Thailand. The Ayutthaya Historical Park is included in the list of World Heritage Sites protected by Unesco. We advise you to take a ride on the famous Tuk-tuk, traditional Thai means of transport: the Ayutthaya Tuk-tuk tours are among the most fun in Thailand. It is located about an hour's drive from Bangkok and was the capital of a large and prosperous empire for over 400 years since 1351. There are numerous temples: Wat Phraram, probably the oldest temple in the city, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon. Plundered and set on fire by Burmese invaders in the 18th century.

The Islands of Koh Samui and Koh Pha-Ngan

These two heavenly atolls can be visited on the same day as they are approximately half an hour by boat from each other. Koh Pha-Ngan, in particular, is known for having the famous Full moon Party.

Phuket

Phuket is located almost 900km south of Bangkok and is the largest island in the country, with white sand beaches, limestone rocks, large and peaceful bays, and lush forests. Hospitality ranges from luxurious hotels to simple bungalows, while leisure activities include water sports, spearfishing, golf, spa treatments, and excellent restaurants. The highest concentration of resorts is found on Patong Beach, a hub for shopping and vibrant nightlife.

Chiang Mai and the North

Less than an hour flight from Bangkok, the "rose of the North" Chiang Mai is the most critical city in the North with a characteristic religious architecture overflowing with ancient temples and cultural testimonies. It is a town with an antique charm, which can be grasped through the streets of the old city, in the shadow of the temples, dating back to the late 1200s, and up to Mount Doi Suthep, where the Royal Palace stands. To the north, just before the Golden Triangle, the mountainous region where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge, is the city of Chiang Rai.

Pattaya

Thailand is famous for its nightlife and the wild parties that go on all day and all night. If after sightseeing you are still not tired and want to dedicate a few hours to unbridled fun and nightlife, Pattaya is the place for you. A coastal city 90-minutes away from the capital, Pattaya is blessed with sunshine most of the year and attracts fun-seeking tourists from all over the world. It offers luxurious hotels, shopping centers, lively neighborhoods and is ideal for all kinds of entertainment.
