Ayurveda & Nature - A Treasure Trove Of Natural And Effective Ingredients For Skincare
Good and systematic skincare is essential for various reasons. Your body sheds skin cells throughout the day and proper care can help your skin stay clean, hydrated and younger-looking.
To help maintain that ideal softness, tone and texture, natural beauty regimens are most recommended. Amongst them, Ayurvedic ingredients are known to deliver amazing benefits naturally, keeping your skin youthful, healthy and glowing with no harmful side effects. As per Ayurveda, healthy skin is not just about beauty– it's also an indicator of balanced health throughout your body. A combination of Ayurvedic herbs, eating habits and lifestyle can help someone to achieve healthy skin more naturally.
Ayurveda classifies common skin conditions based on Doshas which identify the problem/cause. Imbalances of any of these Doshas cause damage and harm to the skin.
•Vata: Discolouration and dryness.
•Pitta: Irritation and inflammation.
•Kapha: Paleness, swelling, itching, and oily skin.
Here are some of the Ayurvedic and Natural ingredients that help keep your skin healthy and treat various skin conditions.

... Curcumin
Known as the Golden Spice, Curcumin is the major bioactive component of the spice herb turmeric or Curcuma longa. It is also regarded as a 'Rasayana' herb, which is a branch of Ayurvedic medicine. Widely known to be an Ayurvedic pacifier for all Doshas related to skin, Curcumin helps in reducing inflammation and enhancing new tissue formation. It also helps the skin revive, leaving a golden and healthy glow. The amazing antioxidant properties of this spice help in nurturing, healing, soothing and protecting the skin, all at the same time.
Aloe Vera
The miracle succulent, Aloe Vera has been used for centuries for its health, beauty and medicinal properties. Aloe Vera naturally is loaded with antiseptic properties which can protect your skin while the Vitamin B12 from it can help calm and moisturize the dry areas. Aloe Vera is equivalent to skin’s pH which makes it easy for quick absorption and rejuvenation. In the Ayurvedic view, Aloe Vera heals Pitta Doshaby reducing skin irritation with its natural cooling properties, thus helping with the prevention of acne and red bumps while imparting a natural glow.
Oat Kernel Extract
In Ayurveda, the Oat Kernel extract is known to pacify the negative impacts of Pitta dosha. It helps to strengthen the barrier on the skin, providing protection and helping in the formation of new skin cells.
Oat beta-glucan derived from Oat Kernels was identified as a deep hydrating agent, capable of reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin elasticity and accelerating tissue healing. Oat peptides were also found to give thin film barrier protection, stimulate collagen and reduce skin roughness. More collagen can lead to firmer, younger-looking skin.
Oat ingredients have a good capability to heal and repair damaged skin from signs of ageing, chemical irritants (soaps, chemical peels, and dyes) and environmental factors (UV exposure, allergens). They also help maintain good skin health by controlling skin hydration, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving skin elasticity. The same has been clinically proven.
Tara Fruit Pods
Tannins extracted from Caesalpinia Spinosa (tara) are highly efficient and stable antioxidants. Tara is a small leguminous tree which tolerates dry climates and poor soils notably sandy to rocky soils. Tara has large, colourful flowers and fruits called pods that range from a reddish to brown colour.
Tara’s pods, which are used in traditional medicine to treat infections and to improve healing, are very rich in hydrolysable tannins with gallic acid as the main constituent. Tannins have antimicrobial and astringent effects. Thanks to their capacity to bind to proteins, tannins can inhibit the growth of fungi and bacteria by interfering with their cell walls. Tara tannins are also known as being efficient antioxidants.
The combination of Tara Tannins and Organic Sunflower Sprouts is clinically proven to protect the skin from the adverse effects of UV, Infra-Red and Blue Light from digital devices.
Sunflower Sprouts
Organic Sunflower Sprouts have a much higher content of naturally occurring nutrients- essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.
Organic Sunflower Sprout extract was found to support the general functioning of mitochondria. Mitochondria are small organelles inside the cells. They generate energy for our body to work. They are known as the Powerhouse of the cell. Infrared rays, which are not blocked by regular sunscreen, penetrate deep into the skin and affect the functioning of mitochondria resulting in less production of energy and thereby impacting regular functioning of our cells and tissue which damages the skin.
Organic Sunflower Sprout was found to support the general functioning of mitochondria by helping them maintain their production of energy. They also help in maintaining skin strength by protecting the collagen which is responsible for skin strength and elasticity, and whose degradation leads to wrinkles which lead to ageing.
Sandalwood
Considered to be one of the most sacred ingredients of Ayurveda, Sandalwood or Chandan is packed with rare tri-dosha benefits, balancing all Pitta, Kapha and Vata doshas. The cooling and calming effects of Sandalwood helps soothe various skin conditions, moisturizes, tones, purifies and release skin stress. The astringent and anti-bacterial properties of Sandalwood keep the oiliness to a minimum and also help in fighting acne and breakouts causing problems.
