Your College's Brand Can Make It Grand!
Among all the other colleges and universities, how can your College or institute stand out? How can they attract enough students to get through and profitable companies to help their students get through? Attracting good companies for placements is equally vital for your College's performance scale as well. The factor is unrelated to studies. This time it's about your college's or institute's branding.
What is college branding?
College branding is simply a marketing practice that improves or, better still, turbocharges your College's visibility to students and companies.
How does branding help?
The days of distributing leaflets to get people to know about your ideas, events, company, or College are gone. The days when your College was the 'one of the few options' for them are gone too. With digitalization, it leaves you armed with only one weapon now, and that is your online visibility. Branding helps you get that visibility and helps companies know about you. How to build your College's brand?
1. Find the unique value your College can add; make it your brand's message.
What is it that your College possesses that is different from others? Is it excellent teaching faculty, brilliant students, or great mentorship qualities? Considering both the students and the companies, what can that quality add to the people who collaborate with you? Use that as your brand's message. A strong message leaves a strong impression too. Tell them what you do.
For example, if you consider the brand message of SkillCounty- "Democratizing the Global market." You look at it and know what the purpose is.
2. Use Social Media to promote.
Now that your College's brand message is ready, is it enough to keep it to yourself? How would the companies know? It would be best if you promoted the brand to let them know. How do you do that? You can promote your brand by using different Social Media platforms and by getting help from other websites. How? Let's talk about that in the following points.
3. Share stories of your students.
Consider that purpose of your College's brand is both attracting companies and freshers. What they would look forward to is 'your students.' During admission, the freshers would look for examples of those already studying, while the companies need to know how effective your students are before hiring them. Sharing the stories of your students' accomplishments can help you build a reputation and help attract more students and companies.
4. Network!
Networking works for any project you are on. Do you want to promote a brand? Network! I mentioned getting help from websites on the second point. Here's how.

6. Create your website and employ SEO to improve the visibility of your website.
What is more important than your online visibility? Owning a website can help you step up your game. But, What is SEO(Search Engine Optimization)? SEO is a technique used to increase the traffic to your website, brand awareness and is an essential mix for your marketing strategy.
7. Use SEM to promote your College and any of its events.
SEM or Search Engine Marketing is a form of marketing. It involves increasing a website's visibility in search engine result pages. To market appropriately, you promote through paid ads. Let people know who you are and what is that you want.
