Century-old Tradition of All-Female Educationghd

The following recommendation was made by the president and administrative staff of Grove College, a private institution, to the college's governing committee. "We recommend that Grove College preserve its century-old tradition of all-female education rather than admit men into its programs. It is true that a majority of faculty members voted in favor of coeducation, arguing that it would encourage more students to apply to Grove. But eighty percent of the students responding to a survey conducted by the student government wanted the school to remain all female, and over half of the alumni who answered a separate survey also opposed coeducation. Keeping the college all-female, therefore, will improve morale among students and convince alumni to keep supporting the college financially. "
The argument is unreasonable.
The difference of the results between the faculty members and the students is produced by various reasons. The faculty members and the students stand at different positions, for the faculty members are ...
... the side of teaching, while the students are the side of learning. As a result, to make a comparison between them is unwise.
Nowadays, the pace of development is moving rapidly. To preserve the century-old tradition is not wise, while to combine the new ideas and old tradition is a good choice to develop. An old tradition is added by modern thoughts. It is the attracting point which can attract more students. Just like the arguments held by the faculty members. On the other hand, the thought s of male students are widely different from that of female students. As a result, when male students join the class, the atmosphere would be more active. It is of great significance for attaining knowledge.
It seems, from the conclusion, that the reason why the Grove College accepted the opinion of the alumni is that they wanted them to support the college financially. For a college, the education quality is the attracting point. On the purpose of getting financial aid, the college accepted the opinion. It is absurd.
For all these reasons, we don't know why to preserve its century-old tradition of all-female education would improve moral among students.
