The director of Metal Gear Solid, Jordan Vogt-Roberts, recently confirmed that Oscar Isaac would play the role of Solid Snake.

Filmmaker Vogt-Roberts is a fan of Hideo Kojima’s classic video game series, and he wanted to adapt it into a movie for several years. The film was announced in May 2006, but it went under development hell as the producer said they wouldn’t likely continue with the movie. However, the project soon came on track on 30 August 2012 under the former Marvel Entertainment CEO Avi Arad. Actor Christian Bale also shared his interest to be a part of the project playing the role of Solid Snake. Although, now the filmmaker has revealed that Isaac will be playing the character.

Jordan Charles Vogt-Roberts is an American TV and film director. He is known for his projects like The Kings of Summer, Kong: Skull Island, Nick Offerman: American Ham, Death Valley, Funny or Die Presents, and Mash Up. In 2013 the filmmaker won the Narrative Feature Audience Award at the Dallas International Film Festival.

However, even after the great success, the award-winning director chose to adapt the video game Metal Gear Solid and shared the film’s concept art on Twitter this year. Recently, Vogt-Robert confirmed Isaac would be his protagonist by sharing a picture of him with the actor sitting together. The photo reveals that they are in a hotel room. Hopefully, the pair are discussing the script. Jordan captioned the picture with the emoji of (box)(snake)(confused eye)(!).
