You can go straight to the Facebook Ads Manager to create your first Facebook ad campaign.
Now let’s follow step by step process for creating Ads.

Here Facebook offers 11 marketing objectives to help you to reach your business goals and generate leads. So what are these objectives?
Awareness
These ...
... are the objectives to create interest in your product or service.
1. Brand awareness

Consideration
These are the objectives that get people to start thinking about your business and look for more information about it.
3. Traffic
With traffic as your objective, you can drive more people to your website or app. Facebook will send a destination such as website or app to people to increase your website clicks.
1. Engagement
If you are choosing engagement objective you will get more people to see and engage your Facebook post or page. Engagement includes promotion of your page thereby you can increase your page likes, boost your posts to increase your post engagements and create events on your page and raise attendance at that event.
1. App installs
Facebook will help you to get more people to install your app
1. Video views
If you have video content and you want more people to view your video then you can go with this video views objective
1. Lead generation
If you are looking forward to finding new customers who are likely to be interested in your products or services you can choose lead generation as your ad objective. It will allow you to collect information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, and more. In addition, you can ask people custom questions that you care about. People click on your lead ad; they'll be motivated to fill in a short Instant Form to send you their contact info.
1. Messages
Choosing Messages objective will lead you to get more people to send messages to your business in Messenger
Conversions
These are the objectives that encourage people who are interested in your business to purchase or use your product or service.
1. Conversions
If you want people to take some kind of actions such as checking out, registering, adding an item to the shopping basket or viewing a particular page on your website, you can go directly with conversion as your objective
1. Catalog sale
If you choose catalog as your objective then it’ll create ads that automatically show items from your catalog based on your target audience.
1. Store traffic
If you want more people to visit your shop you can choose Store traffic, then Facebook will drive visits to your physical stores by showing ads to people who are nearby.
Let’s create our first ad
I would recommend that you dedicate some amount of your ad budget to building a brand on Facebook thereby you can meet your short term objectives as well. For that choose an ad objective
1. Choose the objective
Select an objective then enter your campaign name and decide a campaign budget, there are two types of campaign budgets such as daily budget and lifetime budget. You can set your budget here or in the future pages
Click continue and then you’ll head to the next page
2. Choose audience, optimization, and spending control
Enter your campaign name in the ad set name field and choose a Facebook Page that you want to promote.
If the chosen objective is Traffic you need to choose where you want to drive traffic (Website, App, Messenger, or WhatsApp)
Or if it is App Install, Choose the app that you want to promote and search for your app by typing in the app name or enter its exact app store URL.
In the case of Video views, you can Select ThruPlay as the billing option in which for videos 15 seconds or shorter, you only pay when someone watches your video to completion. . For longer videos, you pay when someone watches at least 15 unique seconds of your video
If your objective is Messages you need to choose an ad type (click to messenger and sponsored messages) that will direct people to Messenger.
If the chosen objective is store traffic first of all you need to choose a page where you want to run your store ads
Audience
When choosing a target audience for your ad set, you can either create a new audience or use a saved one.
Creating a new audience
While creating a new audience you’ll come across more options such as :
Locations. Target ads to people based on locations
Age. Target ads to people within an age range.
Gender. Target ads to women, men, or people of all genders.
Languages. Target ads to users of certain languages.
Detailed targeting. Include or exclude people from an audience based on criteria such as demographics, interests, and/or behaviors
Budget & schedule
This is the area where you define how much you'd like to spend, and when you'd like your ads to appear.
Decide a campaign budget; there are two types of campaign budgets such as daily budget and lifetime budget
The major difference between these two are:
Daily budget: You may spend more on some days and less on others, but will maintain an average daily budget.
Lifetime budget: Set an amount to spend over the lifetime of an ad set. You’ll never spend more than that amount
Choosing an appropriate schedule will let your ad set to run continuously starting today or within a date range that you select.
Then click continue and move to the next page
3. Create ad
Now it’s time to choose the images or video, headline, body text, and where your ad will be displayed on Facebook. For the text, you get 125 characters to share a quick message that will appear above your images or video.
Before selecting your ad image you should know about The Facebook overlay.
Facebook Overlay
If the proportion of text to image is too high, your ad may not reach its full audience. So you should determine how much text is in your ad image. The Facebook overlay will help you to do this. Upload the ad image and check your image text rating. Your advert will run normally only when the image text is OK
Now you’re all ready! Go ahead with your first Facebook ad!
