Going On A Winter Road Trip? Don't Forget To Pack These Things!
There isn't a better time for vacation than in the winters. The weather is perfect for travelling long distances and the environment is just perfect for your machine to keep on running longer without stressing itself. But even with everything falling in place perfectly, you never know when something might try to ruin your winter vacation experience. Keeping that in mind, we have compiled a list of some of the most essential things that you need to back while going on a winter vacation.
Medicines
The first and most important thing of course as your medicines. If you are already under medication, consult your doctor and find out if he or she agrees that you should go on the vacation. For people suffering with joint pain problems such as arthritis, it is important to consult a doctor beforehand. Winter is usually the time when bone problems become more severe, which is why we strongly recommended you consult a doctor before heading out on the road. In addition to those medicines, you must also carry a few additional pre-emptive medicines for flu, common cold, headache and gastrointestinal distress. If you are going ...
... with somebody else, talk to them and find out if they have any special medication requirement and carry them with you as well.
Warm clothes
Since it is winter, you need to have warm clothes with you. Instead of backing large fur coats and leather jackets, carry a few of tools but primarily focus on carrying thermal wears which can be backed in very little space and you can take them off when the ambient temperature starts to rise by mid-day. People travelling on a motorcycle need to have windcheaters and motorcycle riding jackets to beat the cold. Since luggage carrying space is at a premium for motorcyclists, it bodes well to plan the ride ahead of time and have only the most essential winter clothing back in the motorcycle luggage boxes rather than stuffing it with things you might not ever used during the trip!
Safety gears
Safety you should always be your first priority. Whether you are travelling by a car, or riding a motorcycle, always make sure to follow all the safety laws and regulations of the road. If I were crossing international boundaries, take some time to find out the road laws and regulations of the destination country. It goes without saying that motorcyclists must always wear high quality branded motorcycle helmets come and clubs and a pair of riding boots to stay completely protected against the dangers after road. In addition to that you might also need a few additional personal safety equipment such as pepper spray, a loud whistle along with a bright led torchlight to see your way to the dark how to bring attention to yourself if you ever happen to be stranded in a lonely place.
Visibility enhancers
Winter is usually the time when visibility reduces a lot because of the presence of fog on the road, specially early in the morning and late in the evening. Motorcyclist prefer wearing brightly coloured motorcycle riding gears and jackets, and in addition to that they also attach reflective tape on the back of their helmets as well as other visible surface of the motorcycle to make themselves amply visible to other motorists on the road. It is a good idea not to ride after sunset because this is when many motorists drive in drunken state, which reduces their ability to see clearly and take safe decisions. For those travelling to rural areas with low lighting conditions, it might be a good idea to install aftermarket headlights to enhance visibility especially after sundown.
Water
Drinking dirty water can lead to health problems. Therefore, it is highly advisable to carry at least 2 to 3 liters of potable water with you so that you do not have to waste a lot of money on bottled water. Whenever you get the opportunity during your ride, refill the water canister with clean water. Many people become dehydrated in the winter because they do not want to drink cold water, which is why consider carrying a thermos with you and fill it with warm water whenever you get the opportunity. you can get hot water at roadside dhabas or restaurants by paying a little bit of money.
Hot water bottle
In addition to carrying water, you will also need a container to keep hot coffee and tea with you at all times because there's nothing better to reach a minute your cold body then a Cup of hot coffee! Whenever you can to opportunity at a restaurant, refill your hot water bottle with hot tea or coffee according to your preference.
