Dealing With “the Ipod Cannot Be Synced. The Required File Is Locked.” Error

IPod are ubiquitous in this era of technology advancement. Its presence is felt and seen everywhere around us. It has become a source of entertainment and a casual approach for easy and fabulous music. It is capable of satiating all our entertainment needs. While using iPod, we must know that corruption can occur to iPod anytime. A Windows-based iPod is formatted to FAT32 file system, which can get corrupt for number of reasons including unexpected power outage, virus infection, operating system issues, and interaction with an incompatible utility.
An iPod is prone to catastrophic errors when you try and sync it with iTunes. If anything goes wrong with the iPod, then all your existing iPod data including music files, video files, etc. get lost or deleted. In such cases you need to take help of IPod Recovery Software.
Going by the practical case, you may come across the following troublesome error whenever you try and sync your Apple iPod using iTunes:
The iPod cannot be synced. The required file is locked.
Once this error message appears, you are not be able to access your iPod data i.e. songs, videos, ...
... pod casts, audio books etc. There might be deletion of all existing stuff too.
Reasons behind this error
ITunes are unable to read or write to the database file inside your iPod, so iTunes can't be the reason for this error. Therefore, possible reasons for the above error could be:
Database corruption due to syncing error or physical media corruption
Library being locked out for writing due to read-only attribute
Resolution
In order to resolve this error, you are supposed to follow the given below steps:
Open My Computer and navigate to your iPod disk, right-click the iPod_Control folder and remove the read-only attribute if on
Open My Computer, right-click your iPod disk and click Properties
Go to Tools and select Check Now tab from ‘Error-checking section'
Check ‘Automatically fix file system error' and click Start
After the scan is completed, eject your iPod and reconnect
If you still receive the error, restore the iPod from iTunes
Restoring iPod from iTunes erases all the data from iPod. Therefore use updated backup to restore the files after this. If backup doesn't get working then use iPod recovery software, which is designed specially to deal with crashed iPod media. An iPod recovery utility restores the play list in the same order after recovery from formatted or crashed iPod media. IPod Recovery software is a non-destructive utility to retrieve and rescue iPod data lost due to virus attacks, improper usage of device, hardware malfunction, frozen iPods, and error messages like sad face, exclamation mark icons etc.
