Bhutan is a Buddhist kingdom situated in the eastern Hiimalyas mountains between India and China. The country has a diverse topography of high mountains, lush subtropical plains, and snow-capped peaks. It is also a unique place to explore unspoiled traditional cultures far removed from modern day so called developements. It is the only carbon negative country of the world.

How To Reach Bhutan

By Air: Drukair and Bhutan Airlines that operate flights from Delhi, Bagdogra, Kolkata, Mumbai and Guwahati to Paro, the only airport. Flight prices are a little high priced. Alternatively you can take a flight to Bagdogra, and from there hire a cab to Phuentsholing.

By Rail: Hasimara is the nearest railway station to Jaigaon/Phuntsholing, on Indo-Bhutan Border is situated at a distance of 17 kms. There are trains to New Alipurduar from Kolkata, Delhi and all major stations in Kolkata. Another station that offers a decent connectivity is situated in New Jalpaiguri.

By Road: The most common way to enter Bhutan from India by road is from Jaigaon town in West Bengal. Private cabs are available between the two places. People getting down at Bagdogra (by flight) or at New Jalpaiguri/New Alipurduar (by train) has to take this entry point.

Planning An Itinerary

Bhutan Trip can be planned and customized as per your time and budget. Generally if you are short of time you can at-least go for 4 Night 5 days tour ex arrival either at Paro or Phuntsholing. In that way you can cover 2 days in Thimpu and 2 days in Paro with drive through Dochula Pass and Punakha.
