Any meal is incomplete without a dessert. Every Indian cuisine, despite different religions and culture, every culture has its authentic sweet dish.

However, there is no denying the fact that desserts give a befitting end to the meal, and desserts do make us weak. Not only are they a part of our staple diet, but they are also offered in worship places.
Thus, some of the most famous tastes in India in desserts are lined below.

1. Rasgulla

Kolkata's most famous sweet dish, which has widely become famous. Invented decades ago, the delicious, spongy dessert is made from Indian cottage cheese cooked in light sugar syrup flavored in green cardamom.

2. Gulab Jamun

Another tasty treat to satisfy the sweet tooth of yours. The preparation is different from Rasgulla. This dish is made from fine flour with khoya, which is deep-fried and dipped in sugar syrup flavored with green cardamom powder.

4. Kheer

Also known as pudding, Kheer is prepared either of rice or from seviyan. Authentically, made from soaked rice boiled in milk until completely cooked and the milk turns thick. This sweet dish is served with pistachios on top and cardamom powder for aroma.

5. Kaju Katli

This sweet dish is another irresistible one when you have one you want to have more. Made from cashews, this delicacy is prepared from soaked and ground dry fruit with added sugar syrup and cardamom powder for flavor. To make the dish royal, the dessert is garnished with edible silver foil.

6. Malai Rabri Ghevar

Rajasthan, especially Jaipur, is famous for its historic forts and traditional food, which includes a very famous sweet dish relished in monsoon season, Ghevar. You shall find different variety of Ghevar like Rabri Ghevar, Malai Ghevar, Mawa Ghevar, Mango Ghevar, Paneer Ghevar, Chocolate Ghevar, Mini Ghevar, and Plain Ghevar.

7. Gajar ka Halwa

This sweet dish is best to relish during the winter season as the vegetable used in this sweet dish comes in the winter season. Made from fresh and nutritious, red grated carrots, the delicacy is prepared in ghee and milk to perk up some taste. The Halwa is also good for the diet-conscious as they can avoid adding sugar as the carrot itself has a natural sweetness. This dessert is served hot garnished with some diced cashews, almonds, and pistachios.

8. Modak

When we see this intimidating dessert, one can only think of the grand Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebrated majorly in Mumbai, Maharashtra, & across the nation. These fine delicacies are served as an offering to the Lord Ganesha. This sweet dish is packed with the richness of dry fruits, grated coconut, jaggery, and steamed rice flour, that instantly melts in the mouth.

9. Shahi Tukda

The scrumptious sweet dish emerged from the famous nawab ki Nagri, Lucknow. The dish is prepared by shallow frying the bread slices in clarified butter until golden crispy brown. Rabri is separately prepared from condensed milk for garnishing purposes with some silver foil and rose petals. But, before that, the fried bread is dipped in sugar syrup to add the sweet flavor. The dish is served hot and garnished with chopped dry fruits, which makes it irresistible to try.

10. Agra Ka Petha

Agra is not just famous for the world heritage Taj Mahal, it is also famous for its sweet signature delicacy, Petha. This soft and chewy dessert is Mughal's origin made from pumpkin soaked in sugar syrup flavored with green cardamom powder, saffron, and rose water. This sweet dish is available in a variety of flavors and colors for you to try and relish whenever you want.
