What are Public Relations?

Public Relations is a practice of deliberately managing the release and spread of information about an individual, business or brand to the public. A public relations management company handles the communication aspect and the reputation building of their client’s company typically through handling messages with the press. Their main goal is to increase the brand's visibility by focusing on the target audience and creating more awareness with reputation management.

● Crisis Management- is for when the disaster strikes with things and instances that could destroy the reputation of the company like faulty products, an employee accused of wrongdoing, company officials arrested for wrongdoing, etc. This process has to be quick and effective and the PR management company should be able to spin the issue in their favor.

● Social Media- where social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, etc are used for marketing the brand and its products. It allows the company to show its more authentic and lighter side to its followers and there is constant engagement which makes the people feel connected to the brand and get regular updates.

● Employee Relations- which is a form of internal public relations, of giving the employees a positive view of the company they work for as the goal here is to keep the employees motivated, loyal, and satisfied. This is a more action-oriented process.

● Integrated Marketing and Communications (IMC)- which is not exactly public relations but it includes everything from advertising to media relations to internal communications to ensure that there is a consistent message which is provided and serves the overall strategy well.
